Disney Y.E.S. Program

How strict are they on age requirements? DS is 5 and the "How Things Move" program is closed. He is well behaved and I know he would love the "Wild by Nature" program. That class is still open.

They are very strict on age requirements. It is not about behavior; it is about safety. It says right on the registration:

Please remember every participant must have an event admission ticket to participate. You will receive a final program confirmation 2 weeks prior to your program start date. Students who do not meet the specified age requirements for the program will not be confirmed on the final program confirmation.

We tried to get my DS in a class that is for ages 8+, and they wouldn't let us do it even though he turns 8 three weeks after the class.

I just wanted to say that if you are staying at an Epcot resort, you can go in through the IG. We were able to last month when we were there and my stepdaughter needed to be at the front of Epcot at 8:20am.

Really??? This is a huge help; I had figured on taking cabs.

Was it an EMH day or a regular day at Epcot?

It is run by an outside agency at WDW as well. I don't even think the charge comes through as Disney.

This is correct.

The confirmation email is signed "Student Guest Services, Division of CONVENTIONPLUS® LLC" and the charge on my cc was "Student Guest Svc Tickets".

This is why you can't use the Disney rewards dollars or gift cards to pay.

Are we supposed to get other information with our park tickets? I just received our park hopper tickets in a large envelope without any other information about classes and etc. Thanks

Also thinking of hitting a water park (TL) on arrival day. Was assuming I'd have to pick up the tickets at DD.

BTW, received my confirmation email today for the Animation class on 7/30 at DS!

My DH & DS are taking that same class that day. :-)

We didn't receive anything in the mail. Park tickets were obtained at the parks with the confirmation sheet from the web site/email. I've not heard of them mailing actual tickets to anyone.

Did you perhaps order normal tickets?

I have few questions...

Why do some people get their tickets mailed to them? and some do not?

What happens if you lose your tickets? Should I take a photo of each ticket front and back? I never worried about this with my KTTW cards, because they would easily reissue you a card. The reason I am worried about this is because we have had to have our tickets reissued in the past, so it can totally happen. One time we forgot to bring out Tix to the park and they just reissued them at the park. I get the feeling this could not happen with these tickets, I would rather know now that learn the hard way. KWIM?

This is the first time I've heard of YES tickets being mailed to anyone, so I don't know.

The best thing is to take a picture or photocopy of the ticket where all the information is, and so the information is legible. The CMs can use that information to more easily re-issue the ticket if needed. The front of the tickets, with the characters, is meaningless so no need to copy those.

Are you doing the YES program at WDW or DLR? I thought that they no longer mail tix. to those doing YES at WDW.:confused3

Okay, to clarify about the tickets being mailed---

I just looked at that posters info and s/he has recent posts about Disneyland, not WDW so that must be the difference.

Not sure if this was asked already...how long do the classes run, time wise? My DS has a class on 7/30 & says meet time is @7:45am just wondering what time I should expect him out, he wants to do the Jedi training & will probably miss the sign up :-(

Be sure to check your paperwork, but I believe most classes run 3 hours.

I'm assuming if tickets were lost, they could use your confirmation email to reprint the tickets. That being said, I wrote the numbers from the back of the tickets down after we got them, in case any were lost.

Going to DW but have read a few times on this looong thread of tickets being mailed... it could have been yhr old system or the system for DL participants, but somehow was not quite sure, so I know when you are wondering...you should ask now and not learn the hard way later. There is so much experience on the boards and knowledge is power. KWIM?

If it does not apply to DW, I am good with that:thumbsup2

I thought about taking a photo because I did that with my photopasses and it helped.

What I am reading between the lines...I think:confused3 is that if it is lost they can reissue if needed.

Not that I want to have to do this, but for peace of mind...it would be nice to know.

Would not worry about it but I am usually the FPV so that means it would more like be me who could lose them. :rolleyes1
