Disney Y.E.S. Program

How far in advance are these announced? I am currently seeing the latest dates available as October 31st. We will be in the parks early December, and not only are the tickets a great deal, my kids would actually love to attend a couple of these classes.

Unfortunately, classes aren't available in December.

just an fyi
Signed up and purchased tickets february 7th.

received a class confirmation email monday for DD's Wild by Nature class on June 26
DS did not receive anything for his Synergy in Science for same date.
My friend did not receive anything for her 2 DD's either, same class as my dd.

Called in this morning, person I spoke with took the 3 children's name, class names, and date of class and is forwarding to enrollment to have information sent.

Keeping fingers crossed.

DS's confirmation was received yesterday.
Friend forwarded her DD's to me last night.

:cool1:

8 days to Disney

Just wanted to mention that some classes opened back up for September. Some of you may remember that only one of my girls had been able to sign up b/c the other was having a b-day before we went and the YES people were being very firm about not allowing her in that class. Well, the Wild by Nature, class which spans both of their ages and is the class we had wanted to begin with, opened back up!!!!!! So, I called and Dave let me change the one dd and add the other so they both get to go :) They opened up several more classes but he said they are filling up fast again. So, if you are interested in something, don't delay!

Thank you SO MUCH!!! EVERY class for our trip opened up!!! Weird but awesome!! Don't delay!!

I got tickets yesterday for the end of October. I couldn't believe everything was suddenly open. I am so excited:cool1:

Our homeschool coop is doing the YES program in Nov. (I realize it's not listed on the page but it is set for the 28th.) This will be my family's first trip! It's going to be a total suprise for the kids. My question is can we purchase meal vouchers or a dining plan? Also, when does Disney usually release room discounts? Would you recommend booking the room ASAP or waiting on a discount code?

I've never heard of meal vouchers, but unless you are a DVC member or Annual Passholder, you are required to purchase a room package with tickets to get the dining plans. You could potentially pocket the package tickets for future use, but otherwise you might pay as much or more if you didn't bother with the YES tickets.

Not sure on when on the room discounts, but you can always book room only, waiting for a deal and have the reservation changed.

If you're eligible for a military room discount you can also purchase the dining plan without a room package.

You are very welcome! I hope it helped someone. My dd, who was not gonna be able to go to a class, almost cried when I told her the class that she could attend too opened back up :) She was *that* happy!! Yay for classes opening back up!

Good Morning,

DS and I leave Tuesday and he will be taking the YES classes on both Weds and Thurs at DHS. We are staying at the Swan and I imagine there will be no transportation, so we will be walking. My question is about picking up tickets. Can they be picked up at International Gateway at Epcot or only the front entrance? TIA! :goodvibes

That is weird that all the classes are opened up again. Do they have more than one class going on at the same time? or are they just letting a few more kids in the exhisting classes?

Yes, they can be picked up at the IG.

From talking to Dave L., it sounded like additional classes had been added.

When we went with the dance school we had the option to buy meal vouchers in $5 increments. I didn't see the point because it doesn't save any money.

Not sure if this has been posted or not but, there are new classes open for my trip time frame, I have copied and pasted the new classes because I remember reading other posts about needing a class during the same time frame:goodvibes We are doing Disney's Animation Magic on the 23rd:thumbsup2

Classes re-opened, or more added.... This totally figures since I gave up and rescheduled me trip for next year :(

uhhggg. I put off buying tickets because my son needs surgery at end of July, and I wasn't sure we would be going this year. Every day, I checked to make sure our class was still open. So we finally realize what dates we can go to work around his surgery. Class was still open. Then I am still spooked that the tickets are non refundable and I insist on having our place we are staying booked before I buy tickets. SO I I take care of that and guess what? CLass is full!!!! I knew I was playiing with fire waiting so long, but I really needed to make sure we were going before I did anything.

So - what do you think the odds are of a class opening up between Jully 22 and July 27? I'm hoping someone will want to move thier days to one of the newly opened classes and my class will reopen. Anyone had any luck with this?

There is a class open on Aug 1 - just a few days after we will leave. It is so frustratiing.

We attended the Everyday Chemistry class last week at Epcot. My daughter is 12 and was very excited about the class. When we went to check in they asked if my son (age 8) was in the class or the other class also going on that day for ages 6-11. I explained that my son was in science class the following day. Our instructor asked if my son would like to join the Chemisty class that day so we would not have to come back the next day. I was a little worried at first since he was younger then others in the class, but we were really worn out after a few early days in the park and sleeping in the next day sounded great so I said we'd try it, figuring if it was not working I'd just pull him out and he could go to the one the next day. He was fine in the class and both kids enjoyed it.

They started doing some experiments. Next they rode on Ellen's Energy ride and talked about it after. Then more instruction. Ride on Mission Space. After the ride they discussed science behind it. Class finished early, about 11:20. Our instructor was Danielle and she was great! So energetic and good with the kids. She asked them lots of questions and really engaged them in the topic. Even my younger one was answering questions.
