Disney Y.E.S. Program

Is there a post that summarizes the cost savings on tickets through the YES program? I've been searching for a while but can't seem to find it. Savings were huge when we did this three years ago. I know it's changed and the savings aren't as generous but can't seem to find the comparison with regular ticket prices. Thanks.

It's not nearly the deal I heard about in the past. I'm saving under $300 for two adults and two kids under 10 for 8 park days base tickets.

It's a significant savings when you have kids who are "adults" to Disney. The Y.E.S. tickets extend the child price all the way to 17 years of age. Plus, the hopper and water park options are much cheaper.

I am still so confused! We did the YES program before changes took place. Planning a trip for next summer. Looking at July but could make end of June work. Are classes typically offered in July?

Kids ages will be 12, 11, 10, 9, 6, and 5 (two families not just mine, yikes!).

Interested in park hopper and water park and more and also the dining plan.

Under the new program would the YES program be worth it?

I am guessing I need to research summer discounts and weigh those vs YES discounts because if I am understanding this right we can get dining package if we stay onsite now with the YES tickets but we can't stack any other discounts....right???

I'm planning a trip for late April 2015. Does the YES program go on during the spring months? Thanks!

I can't figure out how to multiquote on phone app but like jcemom said not usually April

It seems March, April, May, November, and December are popular months for groups (Girl Scouts, bands, etc) that take advantage of the Youth Education Series courses as groups so the individual enrollment classes are not offered during those times. So if you are part of a group that qualifies maybe you could plan a group trip.

Hi! We did the YES program a few times before but they always sent us a paper ticket, Are the YES program tickets on a magic band? We are doing free dining so we have tickets for that on our magic band, can 2 sets be on the band or can I keep them separate as a paper ticket?
Thanks,
PammyPoppins

We are scheduled to do the Principles of Animal Behavior class this September with the Carolina Homeschoolers group.

Does anyone know if the parking lot is open for us to park there for the start of the class? The class starts at 8:30 am and AK doesn't open up to everyone else until 9:00. I'm hoping to drive since we want to stop over at Blizzard Beach afterward and it's right there.

TIA!

Does anyone know if I am signing my kids up for a class that is in less than 30 days, do they just send out an email confirmation with the tix info immediately?
Also, since it is coming up so quickly, how does it work in regards to cancellation-like if they don't get enough kids signed up and you've already paid for the tickets, what do they do?
When I go to register, it is asking for payment right away so does that mean that the class will definitely be taking place?

Thank you for any info!:)

Yes, the lot will be open, I think it opens an hour before the park does. When we had our YES class there we got there at 8:15 for our 8:30 class. there will be people out front looking for you ;)

Is there a way to only purchase tickets for children through the Y.E.S. program? My husband and I have AP, so we don't need tickets. But we are wanting to take my brothers next month (ages 16 and 17), and I know they'd love the program, plus it would save us some money on their tickets. But it won't save anything if we are forced to purchase an additional ticket for one of us. I can't figure out a way to choose no ticket for the adult. I tried leaving it blank, but it wouldn't let me. Then I tried not entering a chaperone, but it made me do that, too. Is there a way to do this at all?

You will need to call them, but you can purchase a one day only ticket if you are AP holders. This transaction is not available online.

Does anyone know what the difference is in the Physics 101 and the 201/301 class? Or what rides they use.

From what I can see 101 is for elementary age kids. 201 is middle and high and 301 is for high school. I'm not sure the rides.

We just did this last month...drove into the lot at 8am without issue. We did the Girl Scout program and my dd loved it! If you get Timmy as the teacher you are in luck. He was great!

I am overwhelmed with information but with the new prices YES tickets will still save us about 600...so now I need to figure out how much it will be to add the dining plan if we stay onsite to our hotel package. I thought I had read that could now be done...and is it possible to get a room only discount or no?

When we used the YES before we were able to use a 30% off on our room as well...

You can get a room only discount OR you can add the dining plan. You have to pay rack rate to add the plan, and you have to call because it's not available online. It's called a "ticketless" package.

However, if you're saving that much with YES tickets, I have to assume you have kids that are 10 or older. At that age, the dining plan hardly ever makes sense.

We are booked for YES tickets (8 days with all the options), have a room only discount at POP and added the dining package .

I am in the process of coordinating an educational trip, for high school students and their parents, to WDW during April vacation. The plan is to have the students participate in 3 YES programs during the week, take the Walt Disney Magic tour one morning, and spend the rest of the week touring the parks. Any feedback on the YES sessions would be helpful. I have two different educational tour companies, and 1 Disney travel agent, bidding on the package. All three companies think that more than 2 sessions might be too taxing. I am also seeking information on one of the tour companies, Brighitspark. I've used the other two travel agencies, so I am aware of their reputations. Any information on BrightSpark, who advertises YES packages, would be very helpful. If this trip goes well, I plan on offering it yearly, possibly with different YES experiences each year. Thank you for your attention to this post.

3 seems a bit much, scheduling wise. Of course the kids could deal, but the classes take a chunk of time by the time all is said and done. :)

We did 2 once and it was busy
