Disney Y.E.S. Program

Soooo interested in these classes for my kids! Anyone know if they offer classes in August-more towards the end of the month--15th-25th???:)

From my past research, individual enrollment Y.E.S. program classes are offered on select dates in June-October and January-February.

I'm excited to learn the in's and out's of this program! It sounds like it would be a ton of fun and a money saver. Double score :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I checked yesterday and classes were released for the days of our trip (January 20-27). The classes my kids wanted to take (How Things Move for our son and Properties of Motion physics 101 for the older girls) worked out perfectly for our schedule. When I went to the link I used, it said there weren't any classes available. But I plugged in our travel dates and the classes appeared. I didn't participate when the savings were greater. But I have to say it was nice to get the price break for my oldest, who is now a disney adult. We got five-day park hoppers for the five of us for just over $1400. Sort of horrifying that it's almost a bargain ($380+ less than what I'd pay direct from Disney and $240 less than the Undercover tickets).

Classes start January 6 and run through the 25th of February, I believe.

My main concern is with getting FP+ scheduled (assuming it's rolled out). I'd already linked passes to the account (five day passes that we'll use on another trip) because I didn't know whether there would be classes offered during our stay. I should be able to book FP+ with those passes. But we won't be using them. At this point, my plan is to keep them linked to make FP+ reservations (assume I'd have to call IT to get them unlinked), but use the YES passes to get in the parks. Someone posted on another forum that she was able to use the confirmation number for the YES booking with MDE. I tried that and it didn't recognize the number. Maybe I'll try again when I get the registration code before our trip.

Do you have the link for that. I am missing it completely

Here is the link I used. https://www.studentguest.com/yes/ I bookmarked the page because I found it hard to track down the right page.

When you pull it up, you'll get a message in red that there aren't any classes for your dates. But when you add dates to the fields, they should pop up (as long as you're within the time frame). The date range can only be for 14 days (that's how long the passes are good). As best I could tell by throwing in dummy dates, the classes run from the 6th of January through the 25th of February.

Thank you! I was able to find it. I am there the Wed Jan 28-Sat 1, but of course there are no dates for Thursday and Friday.

I'm sorry it won't work for you. Last trip, the girls took the wildlife conservation course at Epcot. They enjoyed it, although I think it dragged a bit at the end (sort of like they had 2 hours of material for a 3 hour class). My oldest especially is excited about the physics class. The one for my son starts at 7:15, so we'll have to cab it to the MK, I think.

Got in on a class for Jan 27th. Sounds interesting and I wish I could go instead of my nephew's mom.

Looks like they raised the prices since last year, but the child ticket is still way under retail price, and the adult one is about the same as with a good discount from UT.

Yikes. We are here right now and did the YES program. Tickets for 8 day premium were $252. Next year (2014) they will be $292.....

I don't know why I buy the 8 day tickets, the most we have ever been able to use is 7. But that was partly because kids got sick last year.

Next year I may need to cut it down to 6 days ($266).

I almost bought 6 day hoppers, then talked myself down. We're there for seven days. The chances of us hitting a park the day we arrive and the day we leave is low. I don't even know if we'll use the five days we have, since I opted for the park hopper passes (DHS is a half day park at best for us, and only my oldest daughter really wants to go so she can ride TOT).

We always hit a park on arrival day, and almost never on departure day, even if I plan to. It seems that by departure day we're usually tired and ready to spend our last few hours relaxing by the pool. I do like having park hoppers though. I feel like it gives us so much more flexibility. :goodvibes

We don't hit the parks on arrival or departure day. It usually takes us 9 hours to 9.5 hours of driving to get there and get home (with stops).

Then we have to load/unload the car.....we are just too tired!

I can understand that! We fly...two hours from our house to the airport, an hour and a half until our flight takes off, a two hour nonstop flight, and about an hour for Magical Express to get us to our resort. So, in all we have about a 6 1/2 hour travel day which isn't bad at all, and I'm not actively doing anything for most of that time so when we get there we're usually ready to do something. :woohoo:

If anyone is planning on going in early Jan., and wants to go w/ a group, please PM me. (Jan 5-12). The price is much less than individual enrollment.

We've usually met friends at DTD our first day at the parks. But it was a zoo the last time - we might just opt for settling in at the resort (AKV) and swimming. I do plan to take the bus to AK and get our passes that day. We have an ADR at Tusker House the next morning at 8. I don't want to be delayed picking up our passes the day of. Last time, it seemed to take a while to get the passes. The CM had to call over a supervisor. I don't recall specifically what the issue was - maybe just not familiar with them?

booked our 6 kids and gf and I ....16, 14, 13, 12, 12, and 9 to the Physics class on Jan 21st....Properties in Motion @ MK, any reviews on this particular class, or anyone else going to the same class????

another question, our program starts @ 7:15a, park opens at 8, I thought busses run 1hr prior to opening? I dont see us being able to make it if that is the case?

I've taken a taxi from Boardwalk to AK for an Animal behavior class. I am sure you could do that as well. I'm not sure about the busses:confused3

Am I the only one that goes for the classes themselves? :confused3 My son loves these classes and now that my daughter (9) is home schooling, she is asking to go as well. So, I booked for Jan just to take her to a class.

Does anyone else do this?

We go for the classes... My kids love them... well, except my 5yr old. The class he took was over his head, but he had a great time participating.

I'm looking into the YES program for my kids: ds(14), dd(8), & dd(6). Do they have the classes in the third week of July? It will be 5 of us: my husband, kids, and myself. I purchased YES tickets for the kids. Di I purchased regular tickets for hubby & myself or can I purchased YES tickets for parents as well? Another question, can ds go to the class by himself? Sorry so many questions....thanks
