Disney World with Mobility Issues/Parkinsons

We are visiting Disney in February with my father. He can walk very short distances but cannot stand for a prolonged period or walk more than 100 ft at one time. I am not concerned about getting around in the parks, but rather between parks/to the resort,etc. Should we rent an ECV or use our lightweight transport chair? We will be staying at a resort accessed by bus, so my thought is that the ECV will take longer to load and unload rather than just collapsing the transport chair. How time consuming is it to manage an ECV between resorts/parks?

Can he safely drive an ECV would be my first question.
Is he independent normally?
Is he ok with the folding transfer chair?
The transport chair would be the easiest but you have to take his desires into the decision as well.

It is a lot of pushing in the parks and now that they are using return times on mobility entrances, there will be even more. There are also more inclines and Hills than you may think, which makes it even more difficult to push a chair. If he can safely handle an ECV, I would recommend that. Depending on his personality, he may not like using s chair that someone would need to push, but he would feel like s burden to them.
