We took the plunge on taking the kids to Paris, Disneyland Paris, and then headed down to Barcelona for a Disney Cruise this summer.

Thanks to you all, we got an incredible deal by booking through the UK site. (Massive savings over the US site price for Newport Bay!)

We are going to have about 4 days to do everything in Disneyland. What are the must do's? Particularly what are the best restaurants to eat at? Are there any fireworks viewing packages like they have in Disney World? Any insider favorites that a 1st timer may overlook?

Thanks so much, you all have already been such a great help and I cannot thank this board enough.

Hi Nick,
I am an expat living in the EU. DLP is our park home and such a difference from WDW. We were also fully vested in WDW, owned the DVC, had AP's, the entire package so our first few visits were adjustments.

Things to see:Visit the top of the castle and walk around to see the windows tell the story, also make sure to go under the castle too. We found this was relevant since we had been touring castles in Germany before going. Pirates is so much better than WDW! There is a firework show but not a dessert package or reserve seating like we are use to getting. If you are here at Halloween they do it nicely.

Take time to notice the little details and fun things about the park. They do a park tour for very little and it was nice.

I hope you have a great visit.

Hi!

Here's what I wouldn't miss out on:

Restaurants: Walt's and Inventions are a huge must - they're my favourites. I would personally avoid ADC unless you have girls that really REALLY like princesses.

Rides: Go to the top of the Castle in Alice's maze it's got such a beautiful view, visit the graveyard near the Phantom Manor, definitely go on all the typical rides like Space Mountain, POC, Small World. Even though they're classic rides they're so different.

Have a walk around the Disneyland hotel, it's beautiful. They also have a silhouette artist who sits outside the gift shop.

Don't forget Big Thunder Mountain when it's open again, and Hakuna Matata (cs) is a must each trip for Hakuna Fries and the chicken. My secret is Les Pays des Contes Fees, similar to the Storybook boat ride in DL, but without the narrator it's just a Calm nice boat ride and perfect to get away from everything. If you have younger Kids, go to Casey Junior next to it.

See Mickey and the Magician in the studios, Crush Coaster, Tower of Terror, Ratatouille, Toy Story Land looks nice but depends on the age of your children if they will enjoy it. Not sure about teenagers. I now realize... I rarely eat in the studios I usually go to the Village either for Annette's Diner, Ludwig Castle or Rainforest Cafe.

Next year there will hopefully merchandise for the 25th anniversary.
