My fiance are going to Disney World Sunday. Wooo! Anyway, I have a slight addiction to coffee. I was wondering what sort of coffee pots they have in the rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. If they took normal ground coffee, or the pods, or whatever. I have heard that the one thing bad about Disney is that their coffee in the rooms is terrible.

i would maybe try posting this on the resorts boards you might have better luck :) I have no idea though sorry! have a good trip!

I don't remember exactly what kind of coffee the coffee makers use. But, what I would do (and what I will do next time) is take a package of Starbucks Via and run a pot of just water and make my coffee that way. Starbucks Via is really good and much better than any coffee they will have there. HTH!

And here's the link to the POR thread. Someone over there will definitely know the answer to just about any question you might have about POR!

I remember not liking the room coffee but bought a refillable cup and went down to the restaurant and got my refill of their coffee... and liked it much better. But in general I don't care for room coffee pot. Except in California at the Howard Johnson near disneyland.... Keriug machines in the rooms....perfect coffee.:thumbsup2 Wish Disney would do that!

There is a small 4-cup basket-type coffee pot in the room. The coffee they supply isn't that great and is no better than the stuff you can get in the food court. I would bring your own coffee and some small basket coffee filters and make your own. I would also use bottled water in the coffee maker, it makes for better taste.

The coffee pot in the room is a tiny coffee pot with a filter and bad coffee. The coffee in the food court is Nescafe. I think it is terrible as well. We usually just make do with the coffee at the food court though; it is a little better if you add a touch of the hot chocolate mix :) If you are really into coffee, I would bring some that you like for the room.

I am a coffee addict as well. Whenever we go to the World, I always bring my own coffee (usually Dunkin Donuts) and the small size basket filters. It makes my mornings much more tolerable. :thumbsup2 For everything that Disney does perfectly, I can't figure out why there is no good coffee at WDW!

Have fun!

Someone on the resort site just commented that they installed new coffee pots that use the pod to make one cup on a two-side machine. The poster said it was soooo much better. Hope they do it at the other ones!

The water is the issue. Be sure to use bottled water. The water will ruin any kind of coffee that you bring.

We are at Port Orleans Riverside now, and I was happy to see the new coffee makers in our room. They are dual side cuisinart, with small pod single serve cup size. So if you can find a filter pod that is like a disk and not a kurig.. I would bring some. The coffee is cuisinart brand coffee, I tried some the first day, but have gone down with the refillable cup and just used the food court coffee..... mainly because I like real cream in my coffee and not powered.

anyways, hope this helps.
