Disney World Port Canaveral Transfer

Just wondering what you would recommend for transfer from WDW to Port Canaveral. We are going to be staying at AKV for a couple of days before and after our next Disney Cruise. Do you recommend the Disney Transfer service, or is there a better 3rd party option? Thanks!

Choices-
Disney Transport - $35 per person each way. Very easy as they will pick you up and drop you off right at your resort. Very reliable
Car Hire - Private transfer through car service, taxi or Uber. May be more economical based on people in your party
Rental care - Pick up at Car Care Center or Dolphin Hotel. May be most economical, you have to turn car in at Cape Canaveral or pay for parking during cruise.

From WDW to PC, if you are a party of 4 or more, you are better off with a rental or car hire due to the cost. Rental is the cheapest way to go, but you need to take into account having to drop the car off outside the port and taking their shuttle. Just a bit of inconvenience.

DCL Transfers do arrive late to the port (usually after 1pm) so if you want take advantage of EVERY MINUTE, get the earliest possible port arrival time, and get there at that time.

Regarding car rental, look at pickups in Disney Springs. It's only a few dollars via Uber and can save you a lot more than the Car Care Center or Dolphin.

If you hire a car, you can stop off somewhere en route to pick up necessities you can bring on board (ie, beer/wine, soft drinks, bottled water)

An additional consideration, if you book independent transportation, you will be responsible for luggage handling from WDW room to the port drop off area.

With DCL transfers all luggage going to the ship will be picked up by WDW resort bell services and transferred directly to your room on board the ship.
