Could anyone give me any good places to go to on New Year's Eve in Disney? My parents are going and I told them I would get some ideas for them.

THANKS!!!

As you can see from the wdwig link, a lot of the entertainment at the resorts and Pleasure Island is quite expensive. We were there last NYE with 2 teenage boys and so we just enjoyed the parks. Went to MK that morning, but by midmorning left so that we could be sure to get into MGM where we has PS for dinner. We spent the evening at MGM. There was entertainment in all the parks such as bands, DJ's - but no big name entertainment. Still , the entertainment was good. You could buy champagne in the park. They passed out horns and party hats for free and at midnight we saw the most fireworks I have ever seen set off at one time. We have been many times to WDW, so even though the lines for rides were long, it was okay since we had already done everything anyway. Just be ready for a crowd and be sure you have a PS or reservation for supper way ahead of time. Have fun!

We went to Epcot and there was lots to do. It was a long but fun day.

This will be our second New Year's Eve at WDW and we plan to stay at the resort and watch MK fireworks from the beach at the WL. The crowds are UNBELIEVABLE....lots of local folks (if you lived in Orlando wouldn't you be there?;) ) The roads were so crowded coming into WDW that the Disney transportation was using back roads in parts of WDW I never knew existed!! People waited in hours long traffic jams just to get into the parks. We took the bus to MGM in the morning, got off the bus and saw maybe 3000 people waiting to get into the park!! We got back on the bus and spent the day at the resort, going to the MK for the fireworks at midnight. Strangely enough, the crowds had died down some by midnight but it was still plenty packed. The fireworks were OUTSTANDING!!! I have never seen anything like it before or since! Once was enough though. This year we are opting for less crowd and soaking up the atmoshpere from the resort!! If your Mom and Dad are real party folks, tell them to get into their favorite park and party down!! Just be prepared for crowds and waiting...lots of both!!!
