Disney World MultiPass Scheduling Woes

You will be unable to book anything in MK until you use your first HS LL.

Before tapping into a ride, you will be able to book another Tier 1 HS ride as your first Tier1 expires and HS Tier 2s as your HS Tier 2s expire.

I would recommend getting LLMP at AK, using the first one ASAP and then booking what you like at AK/HS/MK as you go. You will get more rides but you may miss out on Slinky Dog as that one is the first to sell out and may be gone

Unfortunately, Slinky is the #1 ride we want LL for. I'm considering switching and going to HS first, but I'm unsure the likelihood of getting what we want at AK in the afternoon on day of (River and Dinosaur) and if we can get Slinky for the morning. It'll be 11 days out but thrilldata LL tracking is down, so I won't know until day of booking. It'll be Thanksgiving Day so definitely higher crowds.

You will be more likely to get afternoon LLs at AK than HS, and they would typically have lower standby times as well. If you really want a LL for slinky and really want to do 3 parks, I would try for HS->AK->MK instead. Though I would probably just stick to 2 parks if it is a busy day.

Have a park hopper ticket and three multi-passes booked in advance. The first pass should be a Tier 1. Before entering the park, let the first pass expire then see if you are restricted to only booking another Tier 1 in the same park or if you can select from a different park.

Tate doesn't believe that this will work, and he may very well be correct, but I don't think he knows for sure.

Happy to test it. Let me propose a scenario so I know we're doing it right:

1. Make 3 in-advance LLMP reservations in the same park, such as the Magic Kingdom. One of the LLMPs will be a Tier 1 that is the first to expire ("MK-LLMP1").

I'm assuming we should wait a few minutes after the expiration, to ensure we're not running up against split-second timing on Disney's MDE servers. Like, I don't want one MDE server being 30 seconds behind another to change what we see.

2. When MK-LLMP1 expires, try to make a DHS/EP/AK-LLMP1 and see what happens.

Does that cover it?

Yes, that covers it assuming that you do have park hopper capability. This may not work, but no one here believed that you could stack another Tier 1 in the same park until it was recently proven to be true.

Slinky has additional LL releases daily at 1:17, 1:18, 1:19, 3:47, 3:48, 3:49 and 3:50 pm. But you've got to be quick as those go very fast.

Another option is to wait until later in the evening when the standby waits get short. For example, yesterday the posted wait for Slinky was 40 minutes with an actual wait of 20 minutes about an hour before closing time. It had reached 120 minutes earlier in the day.

I am not really being disagreeable. I do definitely agree that it is useful in some very niche situations, like if you are going to a park later on your arrival day or if you have to miss the morning due to a recital or competition as you mention and you aren't planning to park hop. But even on these "successful" stacking days someone would have been more successful and gotten on more rides, both standby and LL by arriving to the park earlier and using it as designed. I am just responding to everyone here and elsewhere saying that stacking is back and it's this amazing new trick when it isn't that amazing (and depends heavily on Disney not changing anything.)

I really appreciate all the testing of various scenarios. There are many different vacation styles that work for different people at different times in their lives. Once upon a time, I made rope drop every day and literally stacked paper fastpasses. It was pretty annoying when I was at MK during that short time when you were limited to three pre-booked fastpasses and could not add more. Then, I spent many vacations at Universal with teenagers, wandering in at 10 a.m. or later, using hotel express or single rider lines.

I don't want to push anyone out the door in the morning, including my husband. We're supposed to be having fun and relaxing. I like knowing what to expect if we miss our times and how to plan to have the best day possible no matter what time we get there.

I’m pretty sure I’ve tried this (albeit on an AP) and it doesn’t work. That said, I’ve got jungle cruise tomorrow at 8:40 and I’m betting we won’t be at MK before 9:40 so I’ll give it a whirl and report back.

Yes, I agree with this statement because you're limited to the initial park/tier that expired since it's your "pre-arrival" selection.

Confirmed yesterday that you cannot do this, at least using an AP.

To clarify my situation, I could not rope drop as my flight was delayed until 5AM arrival into MCO from Westchester. I took an uber 2.5 hours at 5AM to a diff airport for Halloween party and didn’t arrive into park until 2PM. So I was stacking after each ticket expired which was easy as the park was dead. Literally everything was 1-6 hours late including during the party when Pooh was blinking blue and no issues. Obviously not waiting till expired and tapping ASAP will give you more passes but you need to weigh that vs running around the park (lost time) or if you aren’t a morning person or late arrival like me. A hybrid approach is probably best but expired passes on your terms is a huge advantage

Thanks for the report. A blue Mickey override during party hours isn’t something that anyone on here would have ever predicted to be possible.

Tested this morning starting at DHS with a look towards Tiana's in the MK as our Tier 1 test. We were not able to book an MK Tier 1 with an expired DHS Tier 1 and no other LL use.

Our test person had these LLs to start:

• (Tier 1) Smugglers Run at 10 AM
• Two Tier 2s after that

We let the Smugglers Run expire and tried to book Tiana's at the MK, which was the only non-DHS Tier 1 we could see.

That didn't work.

However, our test person saw a glitch in MDE related to Tiana (coincidentally) and had to go to Guest Services. Guest Services said it's not possible to do this until you've used a Tier 1. The LL rules are confusing enough that I don't expect every CM to know them all.

Let me know if we should re-test this another way. Happy to do it.

Wow, wow, wow.

I have mixed feelings about this. Letting my kids sleep an extra hour but still having a shot at a 2nd tier 1 attraction would be huge for our (West Coast-based) family…but I also do think if this becomes widely known and everybody who’s ever followed any Disney blogger starts doing it to the max, the grace period will clamp down rapidly. We also typically hop to a second park where we want to use LLs, so it’s probably only good for our AK and DHS days….might also be useful for arrival days when we can’t get to a park before noon.

I suspect the grace period was (dramatically) extended to two hours last year to accommodate the huge number of DAS users kicked out of the program before the change from Genie+, who argued Genie+ wouldn’t work for them because their health issues made 1h windows too restrictive…I would hate to see the greater flexibility taken away for those who need it, because those of us who are good at gaming the system attempt to do so…on the other hand, as @Tatebeck said, even doing this perfectly is still going to result in fewer LLs than showing up and riding the ride at the beginning of the window.

Sorry for rambling, just thinking out loud, no judgment intended. If I have any frustration, it’s with Disney for not just telling people the rules in a straightforward manner.

And this is why I will never let my Touring Plans membership expire! I even have DL and I haven't been since 2022 and currently don't have any plans to visit DL in the near future (unfortunately)!
