My sons are having a blast with the toys they got last week at Disney. My 9yo son got a basic monorail set last fall and has really enjoyed it. Last week my 10yo son got a monorail set and my husband bought the accessories for the two of them together.

We have (in our living room)
The resort monorail loop with the Poly, GF and Contemporary
A loop for Epcot with Spaceship Earth
A Loop for the Magic Kingdom

They even got extra tracks and the monorail switch station that recites all of the phrases you hear on the monorail as you approach the various hotels, etc. It even says "please stand clear of the doors" in english AND spanish!

They're looking forward to adding some of the Magic Kingdom attractions on our next visit, these toys are SO COOL!

What a great reminder of your trip! Have fun with your new toys!!!

hi - we got these for my son - the monorail first for christmas and then spaceship earth & the contemporary the next christmas - now instead of a train set under the christmas tree we have disney world -

just a quick questions - are there any other pieces that are new this year that you saw -

thanks

They put out the Poly & GF? Oh man....I want them!

For the attractions they have Dumbo, The Tea Cups, Astro Orbiter, Haunted Mansion and the Castle. All of these either light up or move.

These either run on batteries or by using a monorail connector that makes them go when the monorail passes. We're going to start adding the attractions on our next trip.

Okay, my husband cannot read this thread. He is nuts with accessories. I bought our first monorail set at the discount store for $25 three years ago. Well, it's the deal that just keeps costing. We now own three monorails, spaceship earth, and the contemporary.

Our trains do not say close doors in Spanish, so he'll want to get another and it just never stops. I've forbidden it out except for special occassions and holidays.

Porvavor!

The switch station is what says the phrase in spanish, so you can add that.

You can connect up to three loops and depending on the setting on the station is the phrase you hear. Either approaching MK, Poly, GF, Contemporary or Epcot. Then there is a button that you push as the monorail leaves the switch station that does the please close the doors phrase.;)

Angel M,

I don't see a problem with that.

BTW, all I have seen on our trips has been the Spaceship Earth and The Contemporary. Have they added more pieces?

Both of my sons (5&2) have the Magic Kingdom Playset less the figures (too small, a choking hazard)...okay, I know they are really for girls, but in a Disney house, who cares. I take it this is not what we are talking about here.

Also, mcm, where did you find the monorail for $25.00?

Angel M,

I live in St. Augustine, FL. We have Disney store at the nearby mega discount mall. It gets park overflow stuff. There are some great deals there sometimes. I bought three at one time, two to give away. I have never seen them there again. But after Christmas each year we get plenty of accessories. Spaceship earth and extra track was there last year.

Minnie's Mate,

They've just recently added the Poly and the GF as well as the Magic Kingdom park attractions. These are all exclusive to WDW resort, they're really nice. They can all be found at the new toy store in the Marketplace.

Just got back from "the World" last night. I saw these items while there. All of the pieces were available at the store connected to the Main Street Confectioner (Actually in the side street and connected to the MSC. They were nice, but one question. What does the Haunted Mansion, Mad Tea Party and Dumbo have to do with the Monorail?
