Disney World getting MSEP

Seems that it's offical. Due to World of Color opening in May at DCA and the logistical nightmare of running WOC and MSEP at the same time, the Main Street Electrical Parade is coming to WDW for one, maybe two years. They're replicating the Summer Spectacular! at WDW that was popular at DL last year which had new Summer fireworks, a plussed Pixie Hollow, updated Fantasmic!, etc. Not sure what they'll do specifically at WDW, but looks like y'all are getting a new Summer promotion.

Every float has been updated with new LED lights and animated lighting. There's also a new Tinkerbell float that replaced Cinderella as the first float. There's a pixie dust effect that travels from the beginning float to the end every few minutes. They have about 4 or 5 floats that they cycle in and out of the parade as well. Also, the old 70's electronic soundtrack was updated. We saw the updated parade last year and it's a drastic improvement. Yet it still had the old "back in the day" charm it's always had.

I saw the Magical fireworks show last year at DL on its opening night, it's really amazing. I hope it might come to WDW to replace Wishes. Eden Espinosa (RENT, Wicked) sings the vocals, and her version of Baby Mine with Dumbo flying over the castle still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it! I don't know if they could get Dumbo to fly at WDW though.
Anyways, yay for MSEP coming back too!

That's one thing I haven't seen yet is official dates. I've found the same announcements on about 5 sites, but no dates yet. DL's summer season I think starts in June, but not sure about WDW. Hopefully you guys will get to see it.

Plus, I do hope WDW gets Magical! Fireworks too. Dumbo flying across is tear enducing.

Everything I have read from official and unofficial sources all seem to say that this is starting in mid-June. I would like some firmer date information too, because while I loathe the idea of being at WDW during the summer months, I can't imagine missing out on a chance to see the new fireworks, which I understand is almost exactly the same show that they used for the Pirates & Princess Parties, which if any of you have looked up on YouTube, it's just the best ever! I would like to see the MSEP, which I don't remember ever having seen before. My favorite ride is ToT and they are supposed to be tweeking the effects and adding some new drop sequences, which totally works for me!

I told Gabby that I am going solo this summer or else we are moving our December trip up to August for our 11th Anniversary. Either way, I am going!

ETA: Gabby agreed and now we are using our PIN code to stay at the Poly. We are really looking forward to spending our actual anniversary at Disney this year. The Summer Nightastic changes will give us a great way to celebrate!

It looks like they're saying early June for the Summer promotion at WDW and the return of the updated MSEP, so all of those going to Gay Days should get to see it.

It would be totally amazing if they brought in the PPParty fireworks. Those were the best ever. Come on, how often does the castle get taken under siege by captian hook and king triton?? I loved that show, and the effects ones like the skull and cross bones were cool too.
it's sad that the P&P parties never took off, and the parade was a bit cheesy. But they went all out on the fireworks and I'm glad that it's not going to waste.

I read some where earlier today that it's june 15th... but it was just another topic some place, so i don't know how much credit that holds.

WDWMagic.com which usually has some pretty credible rumors is reporting the Summer Nightastic dates are June 6th through August 14th.

I am so glad our anniversary isn't later in August.
