I'm looking for Disney lovers who have experience spending the week after Christmas through New Years in Disney World. We'll be there Dec 28-Jan 3. I know it's going to be SUPER crowded (people think we're crazy for going), but I'm in med school and my bf is in dental school so this is the only time we could find that worked. We both love Disney and have done all of the rides and shows and know we shouldn't plan on being able to do everything. Getting into the parks early to get fastpasses is a must I know, but is there any other helpful advice? Also, how was the weather? I've been the first week in December and remember it being very cool. Any advice about what is a must to see and what is/isn't worth waiting for is greatly appreciated!!

I can only tell you bring clothes for warm and cold weather. I just told my ds today that I didn't want to plan another trip during the holidays unless it was spur of the moment when we knew what the weather would be. I want to go before school starts back but really do want to see the Christmas decorations again. We were there for New Years Eve 2000. got to MK when they opened, had to leave around 7:00. I ended up going back by myself because I meant I would be at MK at midnight. (They refused to go back) That's why I went after all. Oh yeah. it was around 20º. We were freezing. We live in northwest fl and took jackets but it wasn't enough, all the hats and gloves were sold out everywhere. The cold ruined the trip for us. I believe that was record temps though, We usually can still wear shorts in Dec. Probably has not been that cold since. Hopefully you will have great weather. It was crowded but not any worse to me than last June when we went. Have a great trip.

We did this a few years back. Most of the days we wore shorts. However, on the 2nd, it was freezing!!!

The ony recommendations I have are arrive early at the park you want to spend the entire day at, do not leave, and be patient. We had a wonderful time when we went, can can't wait to go back this same time of the year.

Thanks! I think we went in Dec 2000 and that was the year we thought it was cold (at the beginning of Dec!) Hopefully it will be record highs, not lows :) I'd love to hear anymore advice from other people!

We will be there the exact same days! We have also done New Year at WDW 2 times before and the best advice I can give you is to get up early and use fast passes!

Definately get fast passes! I agree with the poster that said to spend the entire day in the same park. When we were there a few parks got closed because they were at capacity.

I HIGHLY recommend going to Epcot for NYE!! It was so fun to "drink around the world". Great party, lots of bands, so much fun!!!
