Disney World Explorer?

WDW Explorer was a CD rom that you purchased and it was a big map of WDW. You could go to any theme park/attraction/hotel. The info ranged from basic to videos of some rides. They also had hidden mickey game.

The last version of it as far as I know, was ver. 2, c.1998. It updated the original version to include AK. The official title was: The Walt Disney Wolrd Explorer: experience the sights, sounds, and magic of WDW.

It was a pretty neat thing. I guess its major flaw was that it was hard to keep current. Also, the lastest operating system listed on it is Windows 95.

we borrow this from the library for my ds all the time! He loves it, but he just can't get over that Alien Encounter is gone.

Of course he never went on AE since he first went to WDW in 2004 and it was already gone. He was so disappointed in that. He had been talking about AE for months before our first trip. He is 5 now and still talks about that game.

No - at least not in the first version. And I don't think the second version is all that different except for the fact that they added AK. I've just started the Explorer (bought both versions on EBAY for $20 including shipping) and it is basically a big map of the entire WDW resort. You click on different areas and they give you information about the different attractions, resorts, etc... There is a quiz game you can play and you can find hidden mickeys in the photos... and other "tours" that you can do as well.

It's worth the $10 or so you can get it for on EBAY just to check out IMO...
but it's not really a Virtual Disney World to where it's like you're really there if that's what you're looking for...
