I was hoping to buy my daughter a very special costume at Disney World when we go in 10 days, one that not many might have at home. She loves Ariel. Any opinions on the costumes being offered now? Where are they for sale? Pricing? We do shop at the Disney Store and Disney Shopping com. I was hoping for something even more unique. What do you guys think?

Hi. I have never seen the princess costumes go on discount pricing at WDW or DL. The prices seem to range about $60 to $85. DisneyShopping now has the costumes on sale (discount pricing). The Ariel costume from Disneyshopping is now $24.99. I think the costumes at the parks are much better, but you do pay extra for the quality.

Good Luck... Hope you find what she wants.

Did you see them this Fall?

We saw the costumes at DL in August. Kept on thinking about buying something for my daughter, but then just could not do the price. Got home and purchased a Belle (yellow) costume from the DisneyStore. I think the price was $32.99. The Belle costume at DL was $65. The one at Disneyshopping is now $24.99. Each one is different

I ordered the lg Belle one for my DD8 as the one at the Disney store fit well but when I got the on-line one not only was it smaller but it was very different then the one at the Disney store!~ I was not a happy Dis'r !!Just a fyi to you when you make your decision. :)

Thanks. I just am hoping for this "magical" costume to be in a gift shop, ya know.

(with a "magical" price)

I was at WDW last week and saw their Ariel costume. I didnt care for it as much as the one I got for DD on Ebay. I didnt check the price of theirs either. I saw some at Toys R Us (they had an ad in Sundays paper that if you spent so much you could get a free Ariel wedding dress). Our store had the wedding dress and a mermaid version with fins. I would check Ebay and Toys R Us before heading to WDW.

I was just at the Disney Store today and the Ariel fins (not really a dress)were 25% off- as were all the regular costumes. The deluxe costumes were still full price. The Ariel in the store right now is a really straight dess with fins at the bottom. I know my DD5 would not wear it much because it looked too confining.

If you really want to buy your DD a dress in WDW, my DD loved the gift shop near Cinderella's Castle in Fantasyland- it was full of princess dresses and accessories.

Thanks! That is helpful. My Mom actually just got that free wedding dress after buying the DVD at Target (I think). It's really cute.
Well, my little spoiled DD already has Cinderella's wedding dress so we do have that one if all else fails.

Thanks for your input and observations.
