Disney World AP price increase? [Answer: Yes]

I bought the e-ticket from UT this morning. It was delivered to my email within seconds on MDE in the My Plans section, hover over the picture of tickets and a link to link tickets pops up. Enter the barcode and match it to or enter the correct name. Very easy and quick!

Hmmm, I also bought our tickets this morning from UT, got the confirmation email that they are processing our order but here I am 12+ hrs later and no final email with the actual tickets. I did also buy USO tickets on the same order so maybe that is why the delay? In 2017 when I ordered my tickets I got both emails at the same time. Hmmmmm...........

If I not going until Jan 2021 why tickets should I buy to upgrade later?

I know they expire but hold value but no clue what to buy to get the bang for buck savings.

Probably getting a 7-8 day ticket or even an AP for that Jan trip next year.

IS it just APs that went up or normal park tickets as well? I just checked UT and the prices are the same as yesterday, for the 8 day park hopper specifically.
Yes / UT still has some tickets at the old price ... you’ll notice that the savings amount has gone up. If you’re sure you’re going this year, get them now! I just ordered my daughter’s ticket for August and mine for April (which I will bridge to a gold pass when I get there)

I am in the same boat. Bought at 948am yesterday. Still have not received them. Website says it can take up to 24 hours to get etickets. My guess is they had a surge of tickets yesterday and it is just a que they need to work through

It really isn't worth the hassle, IMO. Someone upthread mentioned they tack on the additional $20 gate price when you upgrade, also. I'm already dreading upgrading my kid's old UT ticket to an adult ticket and I am not going until 2021, either!

At least you should be safe from another price increase, though.

I saw that 24 hr notice as well so I wasn't sweating it but when Turksmom said she got her's almost immediately it made me nervous. My purchase time was 845am and our friends also bought them yesterday a couple hours later.

I ordered mine yesterday at 10:10 am and got the tickets via email at 10:12am

My purchase was at 8:36. Maybe I got lucky and beat the rush? I hope everyone waiting receives them soon!

I think when you are there full time, it is tiring going to the parks and dealing with the crowds so it takes a special occasion to get you there.

That's it for us. At first (about 15 years ago), one of the driving factors to move to central Florida was WDW. My wife and I got AP's for about the first 3 years, but then got AP's to Universal as to ping-pong between the parks. Fast forward to today and the erosion of the experience for us has come to full fruition. The WDW park experience, for us, is tiring (as you said).

That being said, the WDW resorts experience IS something we enjoy tremendously. Until I feel there are enough new experiences in the parks for us, the AP purchase is futile.

Did you order hard tickets by mistake? My order was placed yesterday at 9:08am and I received my tickets at 9:09am.

UT chat is super helpful if you guys are worried.

I logged into my UT account and it still shows the order is "Processing". I can see my previous orders so I can do a quick price comparison since we have always purchased 8-day park hoppers.
Here was the cost breakdown for our previous trips:
2013 - $365.95 Adult - purchased BEFORE the 2013 price increase
2017 - $511.45 Adult ( 39.76% increase over the 2013 price) - purchased AFTER the 2017 price increase
2020 - $561.08 Adult ( 9.7% increase over the 2017 price) - purchased BEFORE the 2020 price increase

No, they are e-tickets. We did also purchase USO e-tickets on the same order so I'm not sure if that is the reason for the delay. As long as the price we paid holds we don't travel until Thanksgiving so no real rush outside of curiosity.

If you are using a different device to purchase from UT, call or chat with them. This happened to me last year (a day passed an no tix) and they needed to verify it was me purchasing on my acct and not fraud.

Thanks, I will call them. Yeah I am starting to get worried.

Update: Called they did say they are backed up. But the customer rep was awesome. Sent over the tickets. I would say if you dont have them yet. Call them

I tried to call, first time I've ever got a busy signal calling an 800 number. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone, LOL!!!

My Update - Got thru and tickets on their way as well. Thanks Kelsey @ UT!

It is an individual choice and living in Florida there are loads of resident choices. We have BG/SW Premium, WDW Resident platinum, and have a relative who works at Uni so getting tickets there is easy. For us, we enjoy the parks, the beaches, the Keys, Florida in General so thats the choice we make because we still see value in it. You do not and that is a decision many are making.
I still think it is a thinning the herd move ahead of anniversary to lower the number of AP holders. I think they are searching for the point of diminishing returns, the pain threshold, and are close to it. They are ok with a certain % drop in APs, but, when they hit the magic number things will likely settle there because in the case of an economic downturn, they will need to run back to AP holders and Florida residents to help keep things afloat through any economic decline.
