Disney worker accused of ...

This is what I was thinking as well. I have a hard enough time believing that she could just fall asleep with a strange man in her room, and then fall back asleep after she discovers him taking off her clothes. I have trouble believing that after he raped her and stole things from her she didn't call the police or front desk about it. I really can't believe that she would then go with the thief/rapist to another park the next morning, before finally reporting him.

My thoughts exactly,I would have been so worried about the safety of my kids!

Actually, I think people who say they were raped do get at least the same benefit of doubt, if not more. And they often do get more respect, these days. I've seen the police shrug at break-ins, theft, all sorts of things. I had a cop tell me that there was "nothing they could do" about a wheelchair bound repeat shoplifter, because the station just wasn't set up to accommodate disabled people. But you can bet that if I'd said he grabbed me and tried to feel me up, they'd have taken him in right away. (Of course, I wouldn't do that - just illustrating the difference in the police response.)

I hope you are right.

I DO AGREE WITH THIS....her being stupid does not mean its ok to be raped but she should have her fitness as a mother looked at...she put her kids in danger.

This true, and very sad for the kids.

I believe that someone who claims they were raped is "innocent until proven guilty." If you don't believe that, then yes we do come from two different camps.

Sadly, the Duke Lacrosse player case (was it lacrosse?) changed it for rape victims.

It used to be that the rapist could use a woman's past against her....

..then we wised up and said that a woman can say no at any time regardless of her history and let the rapist go because of it...as it should be.

Then some "victims" figured out that they could ruin someone by making up a story. That her story just had to be believable..and voila.

Then the Duke story came along, and we figured out that women are not always truthful and that innocent until proven guilty still exists, even with accused rapists.

I hope for her sake that whatever happened is true. B/c if it isn't, that is just one more problem for future victims who need people to believe their story so that the real rapists and sexual assault criminals can be swept off the street.

When you can ruin someone's life with an accusation--you still need to prove that accusation is true. She gets the BOD for now in that they have apprehended her alleged assailant. But that is as far as it goes. It is now up to the prosecutors to determine if her accusation has merit and can actually be prosecuted. She has an uphill battle with that claim.

Actually, I think people who say they were raped do get at least the same benefit of doubt, if not more. And they often do get more respect, these days.
I hope you are right.
Where do you live that women who bring a rape allegation are treated like they're evil people? Magpie is right: in all the situations that I've been a party to, any woman who even hinted that she may not have been a willing party to anything having to do with sex was treated with kid gloves and the process for gathering evidence started immediately.

It's only when her story and the facts don't gibe* that the preferential treatment ends.

*Such as the ex-wife who said her ex had sexually attacked her several days earlier. It turned out he was in Texas at a convention at the time of the alleged assault and had the documentation to prove it. She didn't have physical evidence but needed something to pin on him so she could get 100% custody = more child support.

*Or the ex-girlfriend who WAS actually raped, but tried to pin it on her ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately, ex-boyfriend had been picked up for DUI earlier that evening and was cooling his heels in the tank at the time he was supposedly raping his g/f.

What kills me in the second story is that the real rapist, someone who's an actual danger to other women, is still out there. After it was proven she'd lied so badly about it being her ex, even if they'd have caught the real guy he would have gotten off during a trial because of that lie.

What I'm saying is, everyone says how weird it is that this man sexually assaults her, and she goes back the next day and lets him get her into a park for free, but my first thought was wow, why would you sexually assault someone, then take them to your workplace, let them in and leave them, thus doing something that could get you fired in addition to letting a woman you just raped spend the day in your workplace among your coworkers. Honestly, I can't imagine a person being that stupid. Maybe rapists are though, we don't know the whole story.

I see what you're saying now. IF he actually did what she accused him of, he's none too smart. He obviously doesn't care about his Disney employment, so to me that is the least questionable part of the story.

I am sorry that that happened to the boy. But I believe in giving people who say they were raped the same benefits we would give to people who accused others of breaking and entering, stealing, molesting children, and physical assault. I believe this should be the default method for how we treat people. No, it won't protect the people who are falsely accused until they get in court, but if we want other victims to step forward then we need to treat them with the respect we would give anyone else.

But we don't treat them that way. I teach, and as such, am a mandatory reporter. Unfortunately, what that means is I report it to other people in the school. I am not able to call the authorities myself. I have to report to certain people and hope that it is taken seriously. I have been beyond frustrated when nothing appears to happen and I feel like I am shouting at a mountain. And even when hotlines happen, nine times out of ten nothing is done. The kids aren't believed or there isn't enough evidence to act on it.

On the other hand, I have also seen what false accusations do. I have a friend who was accused by a student of making him take off all of his clothes. This student has a history of making accusation (and the parents believing), even when it was proven that what happened was physically impossible. At no point was my friend ever alone with this student and thankfully nothing more happened than a call to the school. But she was a total mess. Honestly, that whole incident made me seriously question if I made the right decision in becoming a teacher.

It sucks from both sides of the equation. I think that we need a balance. Nobody should have their life ruined over a false accusation, and too often we see these witch hunts that end up destroying people's lives. But the victims also need a voice. I don't know what the solution is in a crime where so often it comes down to one little word- "no".

The point that sticks out to me is that she rebuffed him to the point where he "threw something" before he left, but he shows up the next morning with his son? Does that sound like the actions of someone who tried to have sex with someone and was thrown out of the room? Even coming back the next day would be embarassing, but he brings his son along with him?

And then they go to the park and he leaves saying he had something to do, then he gets on the bus. What about his son? Did the son get on the bus with him?

The whole story is just odd.

Edited to add:

Looks like the web page is down. Here's what they had up as the warrant. Names were redacted:

NARRATIVE
On 2/23/11 at approximately 1300 hours, I responded to the Caribbean Beach Resort, located Cayman Way, concerning a possible "rape." Upon arrival, I met with the complainant, identified as XXXX states she contacted Disney on their website several weeks ago to make reservations and spoke to a man who introduced himself as "BJ."

XXXX advised BJ she needed to make the cheapest reservations possible because she was unemployed, using her income tax check, and a single mom. After asking for information on a few specials she read about, BJ put her on hold, claiming he would check on what was available.
XXXXX then received a "text message" on her telephone from BJ, telling her not to make reservations and that he would book her in under a "Friends and Family" discount, assuring her it would be fine and told her to hang up, saying he would call her back.

BJ then called XXXXX and told her he was raised by a single mom and knew how it "feels to want" and had a lot of respect for women.
In order to reassure XXXXX everything was legitimate and there were no strings attached, BJ went on to say that he just felt he had to do this for her and if anything went wrong, she could lodge a complaint and get him fired. Based on those comments, XXXX decided to trust BJ and accepted the discounts he was offering. XXXX made it a point to tell BJ that she was not willing to trade sexual favors for what he was doing. BJ replied that he "wouldn't dare think of that."

BJ and XXXX spoke several more times on the phone prior to her trip and claims he told her the reservations were booked at the Caribbean Beach Resort in order to use his employee discount, he had to register under his and her name, as if they were staying together, XXXXX did not feel comfortable with that and asked BJ "but you're not staying with me, right?" BJ replied no and said he would also get her and her two kids into the parks everyday for free, explaining that he would have to walk in with them, but then leave them on their own.

XXXXX arrived at the Beach Club Resort on 2/22/11 and checked into at approximately 1600 hours. She tried to contact BJ with negative results and as she stood at the front desk, she received a text message from BJ warning her to not check in because they would charge her the full price. After telling BJ they already gave her a room with no problems, he told her he would wait for her in the parking lot.

Once they met, BJ helped XXXXX with her luggage to XXXXXX and sat to watch TV with her kids as she unpacked. A short while later, , BJ, and her kids went to the Magic Kingdom, where BJ signed her and her kids into the park using his employee card. BJ stayed with XXXXX and her kids, claiming that since it was her birthday, he would show her around the park.

After riding Space Mountain with her kids, XXXXX developed a severe backache After watching the fireworks, XXXX told BJ her back was getting really bad and she needed to return to the hotel; BJ offered to drive the car for her.

Once back at the hotel, XXXX thought BJ would leave but he entered the room with them, sat on edge of the bed and started flipping channels on the television. XXXX claims she was very tired because she had driven all night and day to get to Florida and then went to the Magic Kingdom, so she started giving BJ hints to leave by telling him she had to put her kids to bed, but BJ continued flipping through the channels and not saying anything.

back pain became worse, XXXXX then sat on the bed by the headboard. Although XXXXX kept telling BJ she needed to get some sleep and put her kids to bed, BJ kept watching TV and not responding to her hints for him to go.

XXXX then claims she closed her eyes and must have fallen asleep because she felt BJ trying to pull her pants down from the left side of her hip. She told BJ to stop what he was doing and again tried to get him to leave with negative results.

XXXX fell asleep a second time and awakened when BJ again tried to pull her pants down. She told BJ to stop and he did so. XXXX then decided to get under the bed covers so that there would be some separation between her and BJ, while at the same time trying to get him to leave by saying I have to go to sleep and I'll see you tomorrow.

The next thing remembers is waking up and saying "ouch" because "either a finger or *****, but felt more like a ***** penetrated" her "******lly."

XXXX jumped out of bed, tired, disoriented, and saying "why would you do that? I'm sleeping, go!" BJ slowly got up from under the covers and "situated his pants," XXXXX claims she does not know when or how BJ got under the covers because the last thing she remembers when she got under the covers is that he was still sitting on the edge of the bed watching TV.

XXXX felt embarrassed, overwhelmed, and couldn't even look at BJ, so he got up, threw something and said "see you tomorrow!" BJ then walked out and XXXXX locked the door behind him. XXXXX later learned that BJ stole her VISA Debit card, $40.00 cash, and room key prior to his departure.

On 2/23/11, BJ arrived at the hotel with his son and when XXXXX confronted him about the missing items, he returned the Visa Debit card saying he found it between the seats of the car, but denied taking anything. BJ then went to Epcot Center with XXXXX where he again signed them in using his employee card but he did not stay with XXXX this time, saying he had things to do, then departed on one of the Disney buses.

According to XXXXX she has saved all the text messages which were exchanged between her and BJ throughout this whole situation (Sex Crimes Detective Hall was subsequently made aware of the text messages and they will access that information as part of their investigation).

XXXXX affirms she did not give BJ permission to touch her in any way and she will prosecute/testify in court concerning this incident.

I provided XXXXX with a Guide For Victims and Witnesses pamphlet containing the case number.

BJ was subsequently identified as Wilbert Brookins, who is employed at the Disney Central Reservations.

Corporal Mark Whitener (C62) subsequently arrived at the scene to assist in gathering and disseminating information.

Lt. Brenda Brandenberger (PA62) was notified and subsequently arrived at the scene.

Disney Detectives were notified and Detective Chuck Cannon subsequently arrived at the scene.

Sex Crimes was notified and Detective Harley Hall (SE12) subsequently arrived at the scene, assuming the case.

Forensics was notified and CSI Gerardo Bloise (Forensics 27) subsequently arrived at the scene, processed the
room, and took items into evidence (bedding sheets - victim's clothes - and panties).

Sworn to and subscribed before me, I swear or affirm the above statements are correct and true

I just went to the KnightNews website and read the arrest warrent in its entirety & have to say I am sadly doubting this woman's claims even more...never mind the fact that there are many "mistakes" in the report..like saying that she arrived at the Beach Club Resort (while in fact it is the Caribbean Beach resort).

Also, everyone is reporting that she was raped, however in the report she says she "thinks she felt something in her ***" maybe it was a finger or a ** but she isn't sure.

Also, I have to say that is someone was offering me a discount I might wonder what they wanted in return, but the first words out of my mouth wouldn't be I'm not trading sexual favors for this. :confused3

I personally am shocked that he was arrested with such a report.

I think her story has a consistency to it. She shows an appalling lack of judgement every step of the way, from accepting the shady discount to allowing a strange man into her hotel room, allowing him to stay as she is falling asleep, and heading to Epcot with him the next morning.

It would have been more stunning if something awful hadn't happened.

For me its not just the holes in her story that don't add up we are getting so many cases of women crying rape that its getting beyond a joke on the pathetic sentances they are given yet another woman who cheats on her husband gets caught out becuase she got pregnant while her husband was fighting in Afganistan and cried rape

Oxford Crown Court had previously heard that Mr Morley, then her fiancé, grew suspicious after working out the timings of the girl’s birth last May.

When he confronted her in June, she claimed she had been raped during a drunken night out the previous summer.
DNA samples were taken from the couple and the baby. An e-fit picture was produced, which police thought matched the description of a local man. He was arrested and later released on police bail.

Morley then contacted the police and told them she had seen the rapist driving a blue Citroen Saxo car and officers were able to identify a second man. Mrs Drake said: ‘He said he met her the summer before and they had a relationship.
‘He was able to point the police to computer records from Facebook that showed he had been in contact with Mrs Morley and was asked to resolve the paternity of her youngest child.

‘He thought the dates tallied with the time they spent together. He knew the defendant’s fiancé was away in Afghanistan when they conducted their liaison.’

Mrs Morley was arrested last July and initially insisted her allegation was true before realising how much officers knew.

Mrs Drake added that she had not expected her partner to call the police.

Morley kissed her husband as she entered the dock wearing a grey suit with her dark hair tied back yesterday.

He has left the Army to care for their children while she is in prison.

Sophie Murray, defending, said Morley had been afraid of losing her husband and had not acted out of malice.

In December 2006 Darrell Roberson came home to find Tracy and LaSalle together in his pickup. When confronted, Mrs. Roberson began saying that LaSalle was raping her. Her husband, in an effort to defend his wife, shot and killed LaSalle. When the grand jury found out that Tracy Roberson was lying about the rape (which ultimately lead to LaSalle’s death) they indicted her instead of her husband.

Attorneys for the woman call the decision a “travesty” and say that she’s very, very sorry for what happened to LaSalle. Apparently she didn’t think that crying rape when caught in the act of adultery would lead to someone else’s death.

I believe this is, in fact, good for rape victims everywhere. Tracy Roberson made a terrible decision in calling her love a rapist and if Mr. Roberson hadn’t been determined to save his wife, LaSalle may have faced jail time for the fictitious crime committed against Mrs. Roberson. By indicting her for lying and causing his death, the people of Tarrant County Texas sent a message to other would-be liars. IF you lie about rape and cause someone else to suffer for your actions then you are held liable. Period.

"
Then the Duke story came along, and we figured out that women are not always truthful and that innocent until proven guilty still exists, even with accused rapists." DUKE??? We figured this out decades before the Duke case. ROSEWOOD. A community was ruined. Men, women and children were killed because some jerk lied about being raped.

My thought on this is, doesn't Disney do a background check on employees BEFORE hiring them?
Obviously this man must have had a clean record. Why would he risk messing everything up with this?:confused3

Two british soldiers eating a take away in a street have an 18 year old drunk girl (18 is legal to drink over her) flirt and then flash at them after they go away she then accuses them of rape. She has just been sentanced to 18 months after cctv proved no attack took place

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...teenager-falsely-accused-war-heroes-rape.html
So you try it on with two strangers they say no so you accuse tham of RAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you read the article quoted above, it states that he did not have a clean record and listed some of his previous charges. I was actually pretty surprised the Disney hired him in the first place after reading that.

I still find the whole thing questionable, but his background isn't too great either.
