Disney Wonder - Tracking Room Refurbishments

Just off the Wonder last Sunday and as we were disembarking we saw workers throwing out mattresses, sofas, bedside lamps and cabinets. So sad...I would have loved to have one of those lamps!!

Following ...

Have four rooms booked for 13 adults in April. Had requested our beds to be splint into twins for our arrival. Deck 6.

We were on the dream in June and the pic of the fridge looks identical to the one we had so I would agree with the above and say it's the updated version.

We were on Wonder last week. They had the forward starboard hall blocked and were renovating rooms 8500-8514. Not sure if they were working anywhere else. I tried but did not get a look down the hall to see what they were doing. They had plastic on the carpet which lead me to believe the carpet was already replaced or was not going to be replaced (????).

We were in cabin 2112 and 2116 and they were not renovated. The corridor walls near our cabin and the walls in our cabin are in desperate need of new coverings. You can tell they have tried to patch them over the years; they look awful (dirty, scratched, dented). The dirty, nicked walls in the corridors and our rooms were the only noticeable deficiency on the ship. Hopefully the room renovations include re-covering the walls in the cabins and the stateroom corridors. The rest of the ship was beautiful for being 15 years old.

At the beginning of our cruise, we noticed there were 5-6 roll off dumpsters at the Port of Miami on the pier that were full of old mattresses, couches, stools, and tables.

Oh this gives me hope, we're in 8540 on the Wonder in April

We were on the Wonder from Jan. 23 - 28, 2015. We were in 7509. It was our first cruise but judging from previous posts, our room was renovated. We had a queen bed with room underneath for our suitcases, the carpet seemed new and we had a fridge. There were 2-3 outlets by the TV/desk area and an outlet on either side of the bed. The furniture seemed to be new as well. They were working on Deck 8. I took a couple of pictures of our room but I'm not sure how to add pictures. Loved the size and overall feel of the Wonder!

I will warn some of you that may have to use a CPAP machine that my brother said they had not changed the outlets next to the beds yet and he had to rent a cord from Disney in order to plug his machine in. The cost was $50 which is fully refunded when you return the cord but it would be an expensive mistake to put in your luggage by accident. He pretty much parroted JDMV on his comments. His room had been renovated with the bed, carpet, fridge, etc... His ONLY complaint was he said when he went up to the Cove pool all he smelled was cigarette smoke which kind of surprised me but I have never sailed on either one of the classics yet so I don't know the smoking arrangement. I don't remember having that problem on the Dream or Fantasy though.

We are staying in room 7112 the second week of April. Does anyone know if it has been renovated? Hope so. Can't wait to be on the smaller ship. We were on the Dream 2 weeks ago and still like the Magic and Wonder better.

Your room will definately be done. The only rooms that have a chance of not being done by mid April, will be deck 1 and maybe some of deck 2. All will be complete by end of April.

28 more days :) Hoping for refurbished room, but if not still pretty excited about cruising, first time on the Wonder

Just off the Wonder today, they were working on Deck 5 Concierge, Stateroom Hostess reported they have finished Deck 8, Deck 7 and Deck 5. She confirmed the project is scheduled for completion in April. The change out of the plugs and major rehab will occur in dry dock which they have been told will still occur in 2016.

Just off The Wonder this morning, we had two room 5128 & 5130 neither have been refurbished yet.

Just off the Wonder today. When we were leaving for breakfast they had plastic covering on the carpets by the forward elevators on deck 6 and workmen were carrying out 2 mattresses.

Thanks for this. I use a CPAP so will be prepared to get a cord (and pay the deposit) from Guest Services.

Thank you! This gives me hope as our family boards the Wonder on Friday and our room is located on the 6th floor near the forward elevators. I guess it depends if they go down one side of the floor and then go back to the front and go down the other side or if they work both sides front to back.

I'm guessing our room will not have been done yet but I'll know for sure soon. YAY!!!

Have a great trip. I hope you don't have the problems my brother had. Poor guy, his first cruise on DCL and they couldn't get the ship docked at CastAway because of rough seas. But he said they had a great time anyhow.

Do the TV's on the Wonder have an HDMI port? DH's new camera has HDMI connectivity and we want to bring a cable if needed.
