Living in Colorado, we have no rain gear. I've been shopping around, but I doubt I'll spend any money to get rain clothes I'll never wear again. Before our Disney trip last year, when the weather was looking really bad, I went shopping for "nice" ponchos. They weren't the best, but I found some at Walmart for around $4 each. They have a little carrying pouch and they snap at the side. I think my husband ripped his during the Disney trip, but mine and my sons stayed intact. We did end up with soaked jeans and shoes though. Has anyone had any experience with that waterproof spray for shoes that people keep talking about? I worry about it ruining the shoes. Maybe the more we plan for rain, the less there will be!![]()
My suggestion would be to go for a 3-in-1 parka. They are great, because they automatically layer, and they'll work for winter even in very cold climates. It's got a warm inner liner that zips in, and a rain and snow proof outer shell. The two can be worn separately or together, so if you just need a little raingear it's great, and if it's really cold, it's great.
