Disney Wonder Sept 3-7, 2006

Oh Heidi, I honestly have no idea. I kind of think that the predictions are accurate since the person who researched it contacted the ports. I really was hoping for some kind of 7 night Caribbean cruise. I'm definitely open to doing a 3 & 4 back to back but that means double deposits.

Have you been keeping your parents abreast of what's been said? I am curious to hear what they think.

Well my mom called to tell me recently that Disney is making TWO official announcements. One on the 17th and then the other might have been on the 19th? So she's curious to know what the other announcement could be. But she's thinking one of them is the news of the *new* ship. Supposedly it's gonna be named Disney Dreams and it's gonna be 40% bigger. So I don't know. But I have heard a lot of times that the Magic WON'T be in the Caribbean during the summer of '08. I'm personally doubting a Panama Canal cruise cause I know I saw somewhere that Disney wouldn't sail through the PC again cause of the damage it caused in '05.
I don't know if my parents are planning on cruising any time soon either. Well my grandparents are supposedly taking us on A cruise for their 50th (like my other grandparents...they're trying to compete now. ) but it won't be Disney. I know if that cruise falls through or we don't find out if we're going soon my mom wants to book WDW for May. I'm really not sure if she wants to cruise again soon because of this past year with all the cruises. I think it really ate into the bank accounts and I know they haven't paid either the anniversary or the Christmas cruise off yet.

But I think everyone here knows what they're talking about and it SHOULD be tomorrow. If not there's going to be a riot. I'm curious myself to see what's up for the Magic if it's really not going to be in the Caribbean.

I'm going to take off... God knows I'll be back bright and early tomorrow...and on and off throughout the day.

Hopefully, we'll get some kind of idea of what the heck is going on for June 08!

I just went and saw Alpha Dog and I must admit I was pretty impressed with your man Timberlake's performance. I heard that when the ACTUAL guy he plays found out that Justin Timberlake was playing his part, he got mad. But he REALLY impressed me. Really, really.

(And he spent a good portion of the movie with his shirt off, too..)

I just got off the phone with DCL and was told that the dates were not going to be released today . I hope that she is wrong.

I just did and got told the rumor mill says today, stronger rumor mill says tomorrow, official word says next week. The lady was really nice and said to call back later today, but try again tomorrow too. Bummer.

So I call DCL this morning and the CM tries the "maybe they aren't announcing anything today." Then I tell him that my DCL dist sales mgr said the announcement would be today, and so the CM caves and admits they just haven't heard anything yet.

Yeah, someone's yanking my chain somewhere.

the port of LA won't be voting on DCL's permit until tomorrow (per the commission agenda) but my DCL dist sales mgr had confirmed the announcement was scheduled for today (but she could not tell me what time)

Since I have already taken over the thread this morning, I thought I'd post something interseting that I discovered while waiting for NO announcement:

We are very pleased to be able to roll out a new boards enhancement!
Everyone will have their own individual board profile that will include a space for blogs, pictures, favorite threads, RSS feeds and pretty much anything else you can think of!
It's very similar to Myspace but all content on our profile system has to follow DIS content rules so it should be a safer, more family friendly version.
Over the years we have seen how everyone here loves to express their individuality through their signatures and avatars. You will now have a huge blank canvas!
We are working on an enhancement that will tie our photopost system in to this but we wont' be rolling that out for a bit.
You will see some new links on the bar above. If you go to "profiles" You will see links to your homepage, blog, network etc.

I just spoke to a CM at DCL and she said she is scheduled for training tomorrow for the upcoming rates. She is the "first wave" to be trained and she couldn't see how they would release the dates until everyone was trained.

She said it wouldn't make sense to have CMs on the phone who didn't have any idea what the customers were talking about. Her best guess was Monday or early next week after everybody was trained. Just out of curiosity I asked how many CMs are in Celebration and she said 100 CMs.

So I would say don't expect anything today and possibly not for a few days.
