Logan, your stuck! Your going to be surrounded by a bunch of little kids (and I'm talking about us parents). I hope you saw the humor in that. I just looked at the cruise list and on the 2nd part there are a couple of tweenies around your age. Maybe you could pm them and ask if their son would like to start posting. There may be more your age who's ages aren't posted.

Glad to have you posting with us! Too bad we can't start a sub thread for this cruise thread. Bummer.

I've been telling myself for a week now I have to call my TA and haven't done it. :sad2:

Ok, thanks. I will definitely look into that.

Thanks Again!

Ahoy Captain...while I cannot help you out prior to the cruise, I can tell you that my son was 16 when we went last..and he met lot's of kids in the teen club..we never saw him..meeting kids on the ship won't be a problem..my son was not the most outgoing..and he met lots of kids to hang with....

Awesome! The teens club sounds like a lot of fun. I have some freinds that are frequent cruisers and they are 12 and 10 and they showed us tons of pics of the kids they met here on the boards. It seems that there is more kids around thier age that are on the boards. But there will no doubt be kids that i will meet there.

Thanks!

They sell those at the WDW Parks and Resorts if you are interested...and cheaper than that if im not mistaken. :teeth:

I know i might have missed this but is any body else planning on getting dressed up? im just wondering because i am definately going to. pirate:

Tae Ja--if you're interested in these, I saw them at Hot Topic in the mall, and they're also at deadmentellnotales.com, though they cost more at that site than it was listed for at eBay.

Captain Logan--well, my family intends to dress up, depending on whether I get my fanny in gear and do some sewing! My son will be 12 on the cruise, and I'm told that he's getting to the point where older kids can tolerate him. :rotfl: I'll see if he wants to post, but I have to warn you, that would mean I had to share the computer, and I'm not sure I can do it. :surfweb:

Awsome-ness!! I dont know yet if my entire party is or isn't but, I know that I am going all out. From head to toe in pirate gear. LOL! My mom is already getting mad at me because I've been on the boards a lot lately. She just said " Ok, you're DISed out already, it's my turn now!"

I feel really silly all this time I assumed we sailed out of Miami but I recently actually read my tickets and discovered we saile out of Port Canaveral. Where is a good place to stay and how do you get to the port. I am guessing Orlando and Disney will provide some sort of transportation but thought some of you who have been before would have other ideas. I am traveling with a large group of 7, two kids, 8 and 9, three of our parents, and my wife and I. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

We are driving down (from AL) on Saturday and staying at a Holiday Inn Express in Cocoa Beach. It's not on the beach, but it's free with my husband's priority club points. ;) Here's a link to the Holiday Inn hotels in the area: Holiday Inn Hotels We are staying at the second one, it looks new. I don't recommend the Holiday Inn on the oceanfront, it still looks like the dump I stayed in back in my NASA days (many years ago). Another hotel people like to stay in is the Radisson and it's suppose to be the closest to the port with a free shuttle. Here's a link to that: Radisson Hotel

I'm not sure about the transportation through Disney if you're not going straight to the port. For more info see:Mousesaver
Hope this helps. :sunny:

Hi Capt. Logan, My family will definitely dress up, just not sure to what degree. I'm planning pirate shirts, eye patches, hats or bandanas, and pirate jewelry for sure. I'm going to Orlando in May, so I'll be sure to see what they have at Pirates of the Carribean. Love what taeja71 found on Ebay, I'll be looking for that. Can't wait for pirate night! pirate:

Okay Ladies, here's my question(s): just how dressed up are you going to get for the dinners? And what will your husbands (or you men) be wearing? I'm especially curious about Palo's. Should I pack a little black dress for that? Are capris dressy enough for the other evenings? Or do I need dress pants? I know anything probably goes, but I want to wear what is expected or what the majority would be wearing. Any suggestions would be great. :thumbsup2

Radisson Hotel at the Port is a pretty neat place. They also allow you to park your car in their lot while you cruise. You can take their shuttle to the boat. http://www.radisson.com/capecanaveralfl

Good luck!

Here is my info:

I will wear capris the night of Pirate night with a cute top. the other two dining room nights I have 2 strapless sundresses that I got at the Gap Outlet that I will wear. I am definitely going to Palo one night and for that I will wear a sexy little black dress that reeves up bf's motor :thumbsup2

I too have stayed at the Port Radisson..had a great time..inexpensive,clean and a great pool..good take out right next door amd a McDonald's across the street....

As far as clothing..I bring a suit for Palo's and rest of the time I wear Dockers and a nice shirt.... Wife has a few nice simple dresses...nothing real fancy.some folks are more dressed than us..some less....You should wear what you like within the guidelines.....

I brought a skirt and blouse outfit for Palo and then used it again for the dressier night (yep, we paid to dp some laundry). Yes, capris would be fine for the other nights. I wore a blouses I HAD to iron to dinner. (I hate ironing!). A little black dress would be fine for Palo. Dare I say, semi-formal to formal for Palo is appropriate? I didn't see any tuxes that night except for the servers. lol I might have seen dress pants at Palo, but when we walked in every one was sitting down.

My dh wore Polo shirts and docker pants to dinner. I think he wore church pants, dress shirt, and tie to Palo.

Personally, I think I brought tooo many shoes. I had several pairs of sandals, my tennis shoes, my shoes for Palo.

I hope my blabbering is helpful. I think I'm pre-PMSing.

Should we have our own pirate costume contest and have a DCL cast member vote the best? What do you all think?
This would entail extra luggage, but it might be a lot of fun?! Post your thoughts!

MOST DEFINATELY!!!!!
I will probably be the one most dressed up in my family and my sister will be dressesd up too. either way i think that idea is great! we should probably get every one who wants to get together during the party and have like a voting cast of 3 dcl workers vote on overall appearance.

Arrgg....would you like to be OUR costume leader if we get enough to participate??! pirate:

Logan, aren't you supposed to be in school? Or, are you trying to post before your mom boots you off the compter so she can have her DIS time???? LOL

This is my fear. I am bringing two pair of heel sandals for dinner, sneakers and flip flops for the pool and beach. Is 4 pairs too many?

Also, my DS will wear docker type pants and a short sleeved collared shirt to dinner. BF will probably be the same. He will wear a dress shirt and tie for Palo's.
