Disney Wonder Sept 3-7, 2006

I guess I live life with a false sense of safety. Either that or I am very naive. The other day I wanted to find an old friend. In 20 min, I had his sister's info, his mother info, and hison the internet. I guess I have just decided that if someone wants to get me, they don't have to wait until Sept while on DCL to do it.

With that being said, I am open to whatever you all want to do. This issue is exactly why my friend does not post here.

Taeja, why don't we take the cabin numbers and the kids names off the master list. At the first DIS meet, those that want to exchange that info can. The only thing is that I need both the cabin number and the confirmation number for dining. Since that is being PM'd to me it shouldn't be a problem. I will not be posting that info anywhere.

I think that is a great comprise and solution. We can still keep up the tradition but at the same time protect the info.

Piecy: I heard they no longer announce the names. I was wondering the same thing. I am traveling with my boyfriend as well. I didn't want to use my last name as family and exclude him. Kinda glad they don't do that anymore. Just my opinion. no flames please. They probably stopped doing it for security reasons. :)

we have 99 posts until we reach 1000!!! Do we do the 99 bottles of beer on the wall song?

Bumping us to the first page again. Hope you all are doing well!

I'll try and work on doing this asap.

11-11-05: O.k., I went through all the cruisers lists and deleted them. It was a lot of work deleting a few lines at a time. It was just easier to delete the whole post. Sorry all. I think I deleted our ages as well.

The most current and revised cruise list is found on my post dated 11-4-05. I hope this list works out for every one. Or type in, "cruisers list" while searching w/in this thread and the most current list from my screen name should pop up.

gotta sleep. Have a great weekend all! :wave2:

Thank You For All Your Hard Work, Taeja!!!
:wave2:

Bumping us back to where we belong so cruisers can find us.

As I am sitting in the house (still in my jacket), I am trying to think warm thoughts. Brrr.....no tornadoes, but the cold is here. We had light flurries all day. So, right now my thoughts are on CC. :sunny:

I hear ya! Its :cold:

I'm giving us a bump up and a vent to go along with it. It must just be me. I'm a new mom to the whole school idea and I know there are going to be things I agree and don't agree with...Well, next Wed. is my dd's school Thanksgiving meal. I got the note about dressing up as a pilgrim or an Indian and thought, wouldn't that be nice (dressing up was/is optional). So, I found an Indian costume for dd to wear. I got a note home from the teacher today saying that last night at the teacher's meeting, they've decided to have a "contest" for the best pilgrim, Indian, or turkey. The note also stated that all the kids will be making headbands that day. Why bring in competition to what is supposed to be a day of reflection, greatfulness, and fun? I really don't get it.

If you are reading this, could you maybe hit me over the head w/ some enlightenment or even a 'just get over it' would suffice as well. I don't want to be a complaining parent, but grrrr I'm frustrated. You know, after getting the note home today only made me feel more pressured that dd had to have an outfit to wear.

The movie, The Adams family just popped into my mind. The scene where the camp kids are having the turkey day celebration and all heck breaks loose. That was a cute scene! I've got to rent it soon!

Sorry to be SOOOO off topic (meaning DCL), but I know there's experienced DCL moms out there that can help me out.

Sadly, they probably needed to make a contest as an incentive to participate. It's such a hard call, sometimes a lot of people will really get into something, and other times, you'll have one or two kids who do. Since this involves parental participation, they must feel they have to add a prize.
Sorry for your disappointment. Let us know how it goes (pictures too, please!)

I think Lisa is right, because of non participation they have to make it a contest. Just like staff meetings are "Mandatory". Its sad they have to do that. Yes it should be relaxing and fun and not a contest! Just let your DD know it is suppose to be fun and not a contest and dont worry about whis going to win! Tell her to have fun and enjoy herself!! Please post pictures!!!!

Tonight is our city's light up night, all the stores and buildings Downtown turn on their Christmas lights and they end the night with fireworks. The radio station I listen to all the time today started playing Christmas songs! It comes earlier every year!!!

Thanks ladies. I didn't think of what you posted. I was really enjoying the idea of her dressing up until the contest part came up. I know DD will have a great time and I won't be mentioning the contest. I'm hoping to be there at both kids' feasts with my camera ready. Now, are any of you one willing to babysit my littleist?

I saw my first Christmas music cd commercial last night. I quickly turned the channel. I'm trying to be in denial about the retailer's push for the holiday season to be upon us already. I even look the other way when passing the Christmas isle at Meijer. Sick!

Wow! A tree lighting ceremony tonight? I'm surprised. I KNOW I WANT TO POST MORE, BUT I'VE GOT TO GET MY KIDS READY FOR SCHOOL. IF I POST MORE, I'LL BE EDITING THIS POST.

Thanks again ladies, your insight has really helped.

On a DCL note, have you seen the thread w/ ships decorated for the holi days? Wouldn't a holdiay cruise be nice???? :cloud9:

So, we'll have a pirate night, right?

I was looking at Disneyshopping.com and saw that the Jack Sparrow and Captain Hook costumes were on sale.. Would it be okay to buy those? Or would it be a little weird..
