Disney Wonder Sept 3-7, 2006 Part 4

haha thanks guys. i guess if we're not going then one of my weekend trips to wdw can be a little longer than originally planned. *sigh*

and do you know how hard it is to get into a football game when you're in a not so good mood!?

I spent Friday night in urgent care because DD got kicked in the hand during soccer practice. The doctor immediately thought it was fractured but the x-ray turned up negative it is just severely bruised. She did not get to play in the game Saturday but hopefully next Saturday she will have healed. I kept her out of Sunday's indoor game too. If she falls on it she might just break it. The poor girl plays four times a week and now she is sidelined. I told her if she would have been thinking quicker she should have stuck out her right hand so did not have to make up all that work she missed. I think we all just need to jump back on the Wonder.

That is to bad. You guys should tell her coach you will make her swim around castaway and you will tape it. Sorry I hope it works out. I think this coach is being very unreasonable and maybe a visit to the Dean is in order.

haha yeah. my mom made the point that my sister will probably do more physical activity on the cruise than she would if she was just at home.

this was our christmas present too.

oh no! i hope she's ok! sitting out is a good idea. i killed my knee while we were at the airport on thursday. i took thur-sat off running. ran again last night. i felt a few days off would be ok, but i didn't want to miss my long run!

and i'm so not looking forward to the dentist tomorrow. i'm hoping they only pull the part of the tooth that broke. thankfully the tooth that broke is my one that's screwed up already. almost all the tooth is fake. only 3 of the sides (and they're thin) are my real tooth. one of the sides cracked apart from the rest of the tooth. so i'm hoping they will just pull that part out and then put that stuff on your tooth that just cements itself as part of your tooth. i shouldn't need another root canal or crown *crosses fingers* i'm hoping...

haha ok! i don't think my mom trying to talk sense into her worked really well. if i were her i would just quit. the sport depresses her at this point. she used to be really good when she was younger. unfortunately for girls most times they're good when they're younger and as they get older they get slower. it's so hard to watch her not get close to what her best times are. and i feel bad cause whenever i try to talk to her she yells at me cause somehow i was an exception to the rule. i got best times all the way through my career. she honestly thought about quitting after last season. it's so hard on her. she does so well at practice and then goes to a meet and just bombs. and it makes her sad and angry. but she keeps saying she can't quit, for various reasons. but if i was her i would quit and show them. and i know she'll probably be happier if she did quit.

well that's what we were hoping that the weekend would do. cause she mentioned it on friday. and that was when we were first aware that we might not be able to go. and it sounded like she was going to talk to one of the other coaches today. and i guess one of her friends on the team said that she shouldn't go on the trip either. which is stupid. it doesn't concern her. yeah she's a captain, but it has nothing to do with her. and the thing is, i understand the situation cause i swam all 4 years of college. i could understand if they were a top school and she was a top swimmer and if they owned her. but they're not a top school, she's not a top swimmer and she only gets $2000. it's not like with me when swimming paid for everything. when i was a junior in college. i had to miss half of my grandmother's funeral for a swim meet. i only went cause i knew they needed me to win. otherwise i wouldn't have gone to the meet. and it's not as if she'll be missing a meet. she'll be missing a few practices

Ask her coach if HE is going to replace the money you are losing!

I really think your parents need to talk to the coach. He should at least realize what this will cost your family...and at Christmas! He should be reminded that he originally knew about this and that it's extremely unfair to change his mind at such a late date.

ooo you know what, he should! replace all the money for our flights and pay me about $500 for my scuba stuff. i did get use out of it, but not the intended use. and now i don't know when i'll get to go again. maybe if i legthen one of my upcoming weekends at wdw i'll go at epcot. but it's still not the same as the caribbean *sigh*

I totally agree. I don't know why my parents are being so passive about this, it's not like them!
