Wow, I guess sailing in foreign waters/international waters can be risky. I mean, whose jurisdiction do you comply to? Sad for the girl. I hope the assailant get's what's coming.

At first I was like "Whats a 21 yr old dude doing on a Disney Cruise in the first place?" then I realized thats basically me..

Yes, I'm here! I 've been following the incident and I'm trying to keep a safe distance from it. Its a very touchy subject one of those subjects you try to stay away from b/ c you know it will bring controvercy.

My kids are small, but I give them a very small leash of freedom away from me. I know when they are older, teen years they will possibly regret my short leash ,but one day appreciate my cautiousness once they reach adult stage. Even at adult stage, in my heart I'll never let them go.

Having this incident happen in International waters scares me. The honeymooning couple who's wife/hubby disappeared in int'l waters. I think that's the part of the article that scares me the most, he knew he was in int'l waters. *sigh*.

Sadly, no matter where you go or what you do, you can't protect your kids all the time. If I think about it too much, I'd go crazy. Heck, schools aren't even safe. DS13 roamed that ship late at night by himself, and by the grace of God, he was okay. But that freaky stuff can happy anywhere, any time, to anyone.

I also agree with the person who said that some of these girls play themselves off like they're in their 20s..... NOT THAT IT WOULD EVER GIVE ANYONE THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE THEM... but they do put themselves in dangerous situations that nobody is prepared to handle, much less a stupid kid.

Check out myspace sometime if you want to see skanky slutty looking 12 year olds...some probably live close to you. (I have a few here in my neighborhood...scary stuff!) The stuff they write about and the conversations they have are mortifying!
