you know.. when I was in Epcot on the 3rd, I rode Soarin'.. and I realized I grew up in a state (WV) with faaaaamous White Water Rafting.. and never once did I go. It was a bit sad.
Theeeeeeeeen I realized I was in FL living with tons of Floridians that had never been WDW and I felt even sadder for them! :rotfl:
I really want to do it too. We have a 3 year old so it was not possible but when she gets a little older I will. Just saying Hi before power goes out.

Why no power today?

And, yes, NAVIGATORS are handed out at Check in, so you can sit and read them and plan before they permit boarding. Bring along a highlighter--maybe even a different color for each person and then which ever has the combined color is the highest priority. We knew couple who took a yellow and a blue
highlighter. She used one color, he used the other and anything green they definintely did, everything else was based on conflicting activities and negotiation. Worked for them.

The boots are adorable!

I LIVE in flip flops. In fact, I just bought a cute pair of heels for the cruise and I have been trying to wear them around here so I don't look like a total buffoon when I try to wear them on the ship. :rotfl: I have to practice, how sad is THAT? I am a beach bum all the way. :beach:
I still have to get a pair too. Never wear them. I am going to try to find a fancy pair of flats but I will probably have to get heels. Yuk!

They are working on something in my neighborhood. They do it all the time it drives me nuts. It said it would be out from 9:00-3:30. I am hoping it gets hot so they have to cancel.

I'm off to take the kids to swim lessons, but wanted to post this to see what you make of it.

When we decided to take our cruise last year we were told by the principal to talk to the teacher about our cruise during the school year. Now the teacher just left and she told us to talk to the principal about the absesnes. (Am I spelling that right? That's what I get for typing so fast.) What are your thoughts?

I've got to read and catch up when I get home.

I'm off to take my kids bowling. Can't wait to catch up on what I miss! :rotfl2:

Go to the principal and tell them that the teacher deferred to them. He/she is the top dog so what they goes?? :confused3

There is a letter floating around this sight somewhere that you can use as a sample. It is a great letter that points out the educational aspects of the trip. Use it and address it to the principal. I am going to do it this week. If I find it I will post the link. :thumbsup2

I agree with Kerry. Go talk to the principle again!

Check out www.newegg.com I got DH a 2gb memory for under $50.

That is my husband's favorite place to shop. I want to get a laptop next, and he is all bummed out because it means he can't do all of the upgrades on it! :confused3 He's so weird.

In my district it really doesn't matter who you tell or how you try to sugar coat it it is considered an illegal absence and if it is 5 days or more you get a nasty letter from the district telling you about the evils of absenteeism. My girls are missing the 1st three days of school so we will see how that goes. This will be our last time taking them out of school for vacation so all the more reason to make the most of it party:

http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/kids/SE.shtml O.k I found it.

I don't know how to link so I hope this works.

We don't have any excused absences anymore in my district. I figured I would just write the letter and see if they will let her make up the work. We have a pretty nice principal so I hop it works. My DD was out a week last year because her grandmother died and we had to fly to Massachusetts. They did not say a word. If they write me a letter I will save it for good kindling for the fire this winter. :rotfl:

Bill has first had knowledge of this. Any ideas Bill?

Hello Everyone,

First time Disney Cruisers here! We are cruising this year with another couple "zweihund" that actually cruised with Disney last year and spoke so highly of it that we decided to give it a go this year. My wife and I are still pretty much newly weds as we have been married for just over a year, so we are taking this opportunity to celebrate our anniversary too.

Look forward to meeting some of you fellow cruise-mates!

Steve & April

What's wrong with you guys, you actually pay attention to your family's instead of hanging around here all day. :rotfl:

I still have power. :woohoo:

I think you will find that we are a fun bunch!!!! We also cruised last year and had such a good time we had to do it again. Congrats on the new marriage and hopefully all our kiddos won't scare you off from parenthood :scared1: just kidding!!!!

It is pretty tough to scare or offend me so no worries about how rough you guys and gals can get on the forums pirate: Also, we live in Ocala, Florida so we are not exactly TOO far from the port of call for the cruise :)

I'd appreciate if you could link the thread or the letter. :thumbsup2

Are any of you online? What's my dot color now?

I keep reading that you shouldn't bring fins, only bring mask & snorkel. The fins take up the most room so I may leave those home and follow the DISfolk recommendations. Not sure....

I'm just going to rent the snokle and goggles. We're driving and I don't want to deal with the gear. Do I need to sign up for it or just show up at CC and request a set?

My dh likes to tinker too. Even if its a new system, he HAS to put some thing in it.

I concur, Bill what are your thoughts?

I also agree we can't candy coat, but I can still beg. We should be o.k. about the absenses. I'm going to try and not stress about it. That just means the kids can't get sick or need to go to any dr appts.
