This is a good summary for others of us that can't keep up! We'll probably need a reminder post a couple days before the cruise! What time does 80's night start? I'd like to drag DH there but, being realistic, would go solo.

WOW guys! Guess what I just did!! Saw the thread about Atlantis for 119, called expecting them to say no kids........ but they said no problem so I booked it! Monday Sept 4th is the day we are in Nassau, right?! Yikes, this was so quick. There are a bunch of other tag on fees and such but seemed like a deal too good to pass up. Had planned on hanging out on the ship. Have to tell DH now. :-o

Is $119 for everyone (I forget how many in your party)??? Thats a great deal if it is!!

That's a great deal if you only have 2 kids but it won't let you book the extra kid you have to get an additional room so with taxes and surcharges for a family of 5 your talking more like 300 :sad2:

That extra kid gets you every time! Isn't that the truth! Sheeeez...you'd think we had TEN kids, they make THREE seem like a HUGE family these days! :confused3

Seriously- That third kid thing is tough. The little one is only 6 and were not actually going to stay in the room at all so what's the big deal? It just doesn't seem worth it though to pay double for one 40lb kid :lmao:

If we hadn't finally all agreed on the dolphon swim I would have jumped on this too. Can't wait to hear about the resort at dinner. Glad you are linked to us for dining ;)

In some ways I agree but it also depends on the excursion. I saw plenty of excursions that last 3 hours or so would run a family of 5 anywhere from $375 on up. Excursions seem pretty pricey to me. Course I coughed up and choked on the $350 I spent for 2 ppl to swim with Dolphins :faint: I thank my fairy everyday that my boss got me that bonus in April :woohoo:

Kerry - I suppose that's true. I was just planning to stay on the ship anyways but if we could do Atlantis for 150 it would be worth it to get off the ship but when you double it my sensible half (which rarely makes an appearance  ) says oh just stay on the ship and enjoy that for "free"

I am totally with you there. Unfortunately my sensible side makes regular appearances. If we had planned to just stay on the ship for "free" (using that term very loosely) I would probably never cough off $300 to get off. I think I just always knew I was getting off and taking Jared to swim with the Dolphins. Just had to figure out how to scrap the $$ together. Did I mention I have a great boss! :lmao:

Last time DS stayed on the ship. He had a pretty good time. I just want this once in a lifetime experience with him so I guess that's the tradeoff for my sensible side.

I really do not see any more DCL cruises in the immediate future for us and I worry by the time we could afford to go, he will have outgrown them. We'll see though, you never know.

I'm really trying to keep our excursion costs down so I am not planning on doing much in Nassau either. I do want to see that Pirate Museum. I've been to Nassau a few times and could take it or leave it, but my kids have never been so walking to the museum will get them out and about to see what's going on there. I'd love to hit Atlantis but at the same time, look forward to getting back to a less crowded ship.

wow.. I leave for four hours and there are almost four pages to come back to!

michael and I aren't planning on doing anything on Nassau day except... go to the Hard Rock and buy a T-Shirt :)
I bought one in Amsterdam.. so Nassau will round things out perfectly.

I hear you Lisa I could take or leave Nassau and last time we stayed on the ship and really enjoyed the somewhat empty ship. But.. I did feel a little guilty about not taking the girls off to say that they had been there done that So.... I'm thinking we will take them quickly to the straw market and del sol and then get back on the ship. I'd love to say I'd tag along to the pirate museum but I really don't think the girls would love that. Now shopping on the other hand they are all about that :thumbsup2

Kerry I think it's awesome you are splirging for the dolphin swim :sunny: We really want to do this with our girls too. My husband works for Anheuser Busch which owns discovery cove and he can get some discounts. We plan on doing this but wanted to wait till our youngest is 8 or so so that she really remembers it :wizard:

My ex husband worked for Anheuser Busch ... he never got us squat though. Alas, one more reason he's my EX husband. :lmao:

My DD is ALL ABOUT PIRATES so I think she'll get a kick out of the museum. I'm concerned though, that Tammy's little ones will get scared. Arrrrgh pirate:

Kerry lol we brought all the beer for the big camping expedition (about 8 30 packs :rolleyes1 ) Hey...... maybe thats why we have so many friends :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Well I had to make up for the 7 pages you all did last night while I was sleeping!

I'm not working today so I am adding to the chatter of the stay at home moms more so than normal.

I actually have to go and "register" DS for school. Register= give them more $$$. Plus for some reason they want to see my most recent electric/phone bill. Never had to do this before so it's new. They just built a new elementary and middle school and changed school lines so I think it is to insure no one is still trying to go to their "old" school instead of the "new" school.

I'll be back in about 2 hours. Try to hold the fort down.

Well, I would be your friend!!!!

I am bringing stuff to make Tropical Lifesavers. Very yummy foo-foo drinks (as DBF calls them :rolleyes1 ) that are perfect for a Caribbean cruise
