Disney Wonder Nov 27, 2011

Just booked today--found a good deal on a last minute vacation that I really need! Travel G--sounds like we may be in the same business!

I have been busy ordering clothes, getting FE goodies ready and just day to day life. I am going to DL for Halloween this Tuesday for my 4th year of trick or treating with Mickey. After Halloween I am sure my focus will be on the cruise.

Just got my cruise docs today- WHOO HOO! The sad part was I was so late on completing my check in process (now I know for next year to do this right away) our check in time isn't until 12:30 :(.

Our family is planning on the Pirate Boat tour in PV. We are doing the dolphin encounter in Cabo. Not sure if we made the best choices so I am open to thoughts and concerns.

Put up Halloween decorations. Before we know it- it will be thanksgiving. :cool1: :scared1: I'm excited for the trip, I'm nervous about how quick the holidays will be here.

Thanksgiving weekend is traditionally the weekend we put up the Christmas decorations. I will have to do some every weekend in Nov. it takes me 3 days to get everything up. But with all of my weekend events at work, I'm not sure when I will get to work on it.

I have time this weekend and next, but I think Christmas trees and Halloween decorations would be a little strange. It works for HM in DL, but I think I would have nightmares:confused:.

My kids call me a nut. I'm a nut for disney and for Christmas. A tree in EVERY room and a wreath on every door. Each tree is themed. My garage storage is only Christmas decorations. I just love Christmas.

My other fav thing is Disney at Christmas time:cool1:. We go to either WDW or DL at Christmas every few years. I hope the ship is ready for Christmas. That would make my trip.

This will be our first cruise. Very excited. We have a daughter who is 9 and son who is 7. Anyone else who has a 9 year old daughter. I realize we're too late for the fish extenders. What is a cabin crawl? Any suggestions about how warm to dress on the boat. Do you think we'll need jackets? shorts? Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a simple beach trip at Cabo? Hotel you can go to not through Disney? Glass bottom boat tour? or other inexpensive things to do with kids?

Welcome to our group.

I have an 8 yr old daughter, 9 in feb. they might be a great match. DD, Theresa, loves to dance and sing, she loves everything Disney, she listens to Taylor Swift and Selina Gomez.

As far as the Cabo beach, I have no idea. I know of a great place in PV, but not Cabo. I wish there were two days in PV. So much I want to do there.

We have changed our minds about the ports. In PV, we are going to go to the zoo. At the PV zoo you an hold baby tigers and monkeys. My DD will love this. In Cabo we are going to medrano beach. There are two restaurants that are on the beach. If you buy a drink or meal you can sit on the beach and the kids can swim. One is call "the office" and one is "Tabasco"

I don't think there is a Glass Bottom Boat tour. Have you checked into one of the dolphin excursions?

What is the zoo in PV? Does Disney offer that as one of their excursions? I booked the dolphin encounter for kids, didn't see anything about a zoo.

I was slow on the take as well. I checked in today and selected some excursions that I am not quite sure about yet. Our check in time is 12 PM.

I posted a few weeks ago... but didn't have a chance to check back until today. I wanted to thank you guys for all the tips and pointers about the cruise, especially that inside look at one of the recent Navigator newsletters. That brought back some very nice memories of our short cruise to the Bahamas on the Disney Wonder about 3 1/2 years ago (wow - has it really been that long??)

Our family is getting super excited to go on this cruise, especially to have a nice long cruise this time. Also, our kids are not babies in diapers anymore, they are 5 and 6 years old - so that will make life easier.

I decided to make the boys a count down calendar to help with the wait too. I made it like an advent calendar, but in a Mickey theme, and every window they open has a small treat (Pez or M&M). There is also a letter revealed each day to help them spell out a message. The message, when finished, will spell out that the boys get to swim with the dolphins in Mexico. Great fun!

Now that we are about a month away, it is getting harder to focus on my work during the day! All I want to do is research everything, plan, and daydream about all the relaxing and fun things we are going to be doing together as a family. Our plan is to check in at 1:30pm. We booked a deluxe stateroom with a verandah. For PV, we are going to Paradise Beach. In Cabo, we are having the boys swim with dolphins on the first day and on the second day we might check out that restaurant on the beach that someone had mentioned, called Tabasco's.

Sorry I didn't sign up for the cabin crawl or FE in time, but I will plan to meet on deck at 3:15. How do I know who to look for? Also, if anyone decides to start a second FE - please let me know how I can get on the list for that. And as one final note, for any of the families in the LA area, please let me know if you want to try to meet up before the cruise so we can get our kids together or something. Just a thought...although it sounds like everyone is going to be really busy working on those FE gifts and starting to pack. ONLY 33 DAYS AWAY!!! YAY!!!!!! :cool1:

OK fellow FE participants, if you don't mind I need the first names of everyone traveling in your cabins for something for FE gifts. You can either PM me or just post on this thread. Thanks in advance

Oh and BTW when I arrived home from LA I found my Cruise Docs in the mailbox.
