I checked in online Thursday and also took the 11:00am port check in time. We're at the Doubletree too. We have our 9 yr old grandson with us. How old are your kidlets?

Our daughters are 8 and 2, and I know the 8 yo is looking forward to meeting some kids to play with. She enjoys the clubs a lot more if she feels she has met some one.

That's great - sounds like a number of us are there, so we should end up meeting up before the ship. Right now we arrive on Sat. probably 2 or so, and will likely just hang out in the area and make sure we are all set for the big day.

I talked to a CM over the phone on Friday because our party has different check in times. I have 10:30 for our room but I had to get the passport info for my mom's and sister's room and father-in-law's room. So when I checked them in the first available was 11:00 but the CM told me the check in times were to help them know how many people were arriving at the port at certain times and we can all check in at the 10:30 time. So it sounds like once you arrive they are not going to make you wait if you have a later check in time.

I am fairly certain that no hotel has airport to hotel transportation or port to airport transportation. I'd be all over that if there was! DLR area hotels are much different than WDW when it comes to transportation options. Everything costs extra.

I'd love to have a Doubletree Saturday meet-up! We are flying in at 9:30 in the morning and renting a car for the day. We were going to go to DL, but decided against it since it would be over $300 for our family, plus our favorite ride (splash mountain) is closed.

We're thinking of going to the Long Beach Aquarium and then wandering around Downtown Disney.

I think I saw at least 4 different names of groups staying at the Doubletree. Anyone else? We are probably all arriving at different times, so I am happy to hear suggestions on the best place and time for a meet and greet for those who might be interested.

who haven't make flight or hotel or shuttle ressies? we had an option for under 300 pp but had to drive to nashville which we wanted to avoid if possible, now even if we DO drive to nash or atl it's almost $400 pp!! eeek! guess if it's gonna be this much we might as well just keep waiting and hoping for a "special" ... our biggest hitch is not leaving til after 12:30 and flying to the eastern time zone w/ a layover to get to chatt. there are very few options making it $$

is anyone staying near lax (or long beach, tho i haven't ck'd into flying into there) and taking a shuttle or limo to the port? i'd heard if you had a bigger group (we have 8) that it was cheaper to stay away from the port and take a limo in... however, my il's live in socal so they will have a car they need to park for the wk...wonder if that is an option @ a hotel near lax or long beach...

i'm very excited but have let life get too crazy and tho i've bought a ton of fe stuff i've yet to make my hanger!! lol!

Both the Doubletree and the Crowne Plaza offer a Park and Sail package. Some of the Long Beach (airport) area hotels probably do as well, I am just not as familiar with them.

The Sunrise hotel, which is across from the pier has park and stay and is very reasonable. When we have flown down we flew into LAX as it is a straight shot down the highway to San Pedro. Thirty minute drive with no traffic, about a 45-60 minutes with traffic. A few years back when gas wasn't so high we took a cab for 45 dollars total.

Bookite, If you aren't needing a car you can get a package at Doubletree with shuttle to hotel and back to the airport, 2 breakfasts and 2 drinks on checkin and a double queen room for one night for $250.
