Disney Wonder March 20th 2011 sailing

I know I already answered you on FB regarding the child care, but you should book Flounders just to be safe. You can always cancel if you decide not to use Flounders, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I booked my full 18 hours just in case, but I'll more than likely end of canceling some of it. I also just started potty training DD who just turned 2 on on Dec. 29th, but I don't think she'll be fully trained by the cruise. I plan on taking her to play in the clubs with my supervision because I know she'll love to play in there.

Thanks, Katie!!! I just booked my full 18 hours in Flounders also. Like you, I know I probably won't use most of it, but I'm glad I have it. I'm also planning on staying with her in the clubs part of the time so she could enjoy them with her big sisters. :)

Palo has a tea? Where do I find details on it? Sounds fun - is it an adult only thing or do kiddos go too?

It's for adults only. The kids get their own tea in their club (with Alice in Wonderland?).

My mom & I love going to tea, so I'm doing this with her. I did it on the Disney Magic way back in 2002 with my husband and I really enjoyed it. My travel agent says that high tea at Palo is one of the first things to fill up, so try to book it as soon as you can.

Thanks for the advice! Will send a PM once I can (don't have 10 posts yet) - I think my son would be thrilled to have treats appear during the trip. Looking forward to the trip.

Since the date is quickly approaching for us newbies to start reserving - how do you know which night to reserve Palo? Trying to ensure we don't miss any special nights (like Pirate). Recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

According to reports, Formal night is night 2 (Monday), Pirate night is night 4 (Wednesday), and Semi-formal night is night 6 (Friday). This is exactly how Disney set it up for the Mexican Riviera cruise we did in 2005 as well.

Then I did good booking Palo for night 3! :goodvibes

How did the Christmas reveal go Kim?

I'm thinking of doing a beach hotel for PV. Any suggestions? We could do the Disney excursion- a little pricey. I know you can walk to the Krystal hotel by the port, has anyone done that before? I would love to see pictures of any beach break type excursions in PV, either through the cruise line or on your own. I am not opposed to trying an on-our-own excursion if it seems easy to do.

It was awesome, Christine!!! I did a scavenger hunt--kids opened one gift which included the first clue...which led them to another small gift and another clue...and so on. Did little gifts...travel size bottles in a toiletry bag at one, sunscreen/sand toys/goggles at another, countdown calendars, Disney t-shirts, collector's pins with the names of each port (from last time Disney went to the Mexican Riviera), and finally a cruise invite that I had personalized from someone on the door magnets thread.
They were BEYOND excited...they TOTALLY did not expect a big trip in the same year as Alexis' Washington D.C. school trip and Hunter's Sacramento school trip. But Kids Sail Free made it possible! :goodvibes Now we can all share the excitement that I've kept a secret since June!

We did the Dolphin Excursion through Disney in Puerto Vallarta back in 2005, so I don't know anything about a good beach hotel. I'd be interested in hearing from someone with good info on this too!

Hi,
I see where you can purchase a beer mug/token & get 22 oz beers for the 16 oz price and where you can prepurchase your dinner wines? Any thoughts on these programs? Not sure if it's worth it.
Thanks.

I have a question about the FE exchange. Did we decide to divide exchange the into two groups?

Did this info come from Disney or your travel agent? Everything thing I've seen on over 7-night cruises were third night formal and 5th night pirates. I don't want to choose either formal or pirates for Palo, want to be sure to do the dining room with my grandson on those evenings.

I have used the wine package before, it was nice. Even better since my dad bought it! :rotfl2: It did have some nice wines. You could even use your package at Palo. For this cruise, since I don't have to fly, I plan to just bring onboard my own wines. One of the things I love the most about DCL is being free to bring my own alcohol onboard.

Hi,
Another question - is the prepaid photo package worth it?
Thanks.
Absolutely! Unlike in the past, where you bought either a 6x8 package or an 8x10 package, now you just buy credits. Each 6x8 is one credit, and 8x10s are two. You can upgrade your package later on if you wish, or get the cash difference refunded to you if you don't use them all. I am a bit of a picture nut so I tend to buy the package!

I don't know if it was decided for sure. But I absolutely think we should. I have done the FE on all 5 of my previous cruises. I was the FE organizer on my last cruise. Anything over 30 cabins is just too much. Too much to make, too much to deliver, too much to try to haul back home. The larger the group, the harder it is to keep up with the cabin changes that will happen as people get assigned cabins and/or get upgraded at the port.

We should decide soon though. It's getting to be time to start making or buying items! I know I started gathering some things already. ;)

This info came from Disney. I booked directly through them, so I don't have a travel agent. Others on the DIS who are traveling to the MR soon have reported being given this info as well. I also traveled to the MR with Disney in 2005, and the formal, pirate, and semi-formal were on nights 2, 4, and 6 back then as well.

I believe it will be divided in half, Mickey group and Goofy group. I'm wishing ethanash1 was around so we could get this settled. I did pm her, but no response yet. I'm beginning to worry about her. Should we give it another couple weeks and then maybe we need to redo the sign ups? I hate to do that. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Am I just worrying for nothing? I will admit that I am a worry wort, just ask eyeluvmickey.

I think it would be ok to wait a week or two, she might have been real busy with the holidays and just hasn't been on this site. If it's any longer though it would probably be a good idea to divide the list into two and take it from there.

I think she's the only one with the official FE list. The list on the board is just people who are on the cruise, not necessarily doing the FE, isn't it? Everyone who wanted to do the FE sent her their info.

Hmmm... it was so long ago that I think I just had her add me to that giant list many pages back? I don't recall sending a PM. At any rate, the list needs to get redone/revised. We need cabin numbers, breakdowns of kids' ages, etc. I agree with waiting another week- but not too much more than that.
