Disney Wonder Jan 23, 2011

I think Wendi Might pass on the riding with Randi so let me ask her and see - if thats the case then someonoe can have her spot - I have her and I reserved - Im still planning on riding .
I think it would be fun to post a page about whos going on what excursions so that we know whos going to be in our groups ....what does everyone think about that ???? anyone KNOW how to do that LOL ????:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I like the idea!

OK . . . all of this talk about different organizations (although I don't know what they are), makes me want to tell you about my disappointing experiences with organizations. The only 2 organizations I've ever wanted to join wouldn't have me :( When I was 20 the U.S. Navy...d3

My dad was in the Navy and used to tell me whatever you do when you grow up don't join the military (spent too much time in Vietnam as a Navy corpsman with the Marines). He said NAVY = Never Again Volunteer Yourself.

So of course when I was 20 I joined the Army. I am proud of serving and would do it again in heart beat....my kid however.....I will cross that bridge if i have too.

Aren't you a CTNW member?

Acronym purposely butchered to make you think, but if you can't figure it out I'm confident Ryan can/will!

Hmmm. I dough-nut-know! Honestly, I have been so stressed and busy that I haven't thought about it too much, but the time I have dedicated to it has brought nothing. I've asked Ryan several times and he says he doesn't know either. :confused3 What could it be?? :confused3

I can see by your picture that you're a very attractive young lady and the Navy was probably afraid none of the guys would pay attention to their duties while you were around! On the mason thing, I remember my auntie was in a women's auxillary group called Eastern Star. Although I don't have a clue what they did in their meetings. I know her daughter, my cousin, was in the girls' group Rainbow Girls and that seemed to mainly revolve around wearing formals. :confused3

Aww...I think I love you! :rotfl2: Unfortunately I'm afraid it is the more than 100lbs overweight that made them say that, but I'll ditch the truth for your outlook :rotfl:

I've never heard of those organizations, but maybe I'll look them up. I only want to be a Mason to take over the world :lmao: j/k! I have a family member somewhere (like a 4th cousin or something) who is a Free Mason, and so is his son. I asked him if there's any way a woman can join and he said that the closest I could get would be to marry a free mason! Unfortunately I already married Ryan! :lmao: JUST KIDDING RYAN - I LOVE YOU :lmao: I would only want to be a part of it because they won't let me, if women were allowed I probably wouldn't care - you know how that goes. Then again, free mason's tend to become president . . . so, I guess I DO want to be one . . . watch out world! :hippie:

LOL, the funniest part is that no one really knows when I'm serious and when I'm joking . . . wouldn't you all like to know!

I gotta say you all are the coolest people ever! We all need to go on the next cruise together! Jessica, the Navy's loss is our gain. Dont listen to those guys. However, if you'd still like to be a free mason, I have some masonary work to do in my back yard and don't want to pay anyone, so this is going to work out great.

I'm about to be on the "7 Nights to Obesity" program. I hear they have a "midnight dessert buffet." Did I just dream that? Such a miracle can't possibly exist in real life! Sorry... need a minute....tearing up here.....so happy.....Girls cry at weddings, I cry at dessert buffets.

Do you think Disney can make me a chocolate stateroom?

OMG - you are the funniest SOB I've ever "met" -- I can't wait to met you and Jessica for real :thumbsup2 And - heck yeah we should all do another cruise together! The problem is when :confused3 Our next trip is going to be December to WDW - anyone want to join us then?? We are calling DVC to book tomorrow!

So - for realsies - you will never guess what I did today! Ok, I suppose knowing me tells you that it's not so surprising. Yes Steve, I was finishing "making" Emma's birthday present today and I super-glued my fingers together! :rotfl2: It was funny for about 4 seconds until I couldn't get my fingers apart and started to panic that I might pull the flesh from hands :sad2: Eventually I got my fingers apart, but now I can't even feel the skin on 2 fingers because they are covered in a layer of glue!

The other thing I wanted to ask is a question posed to those who ride horses regularly (Cari, maybe you will have an opinion?) So - another for realsies - between Halloween and January 1st I gained 9 lbs, yup, 9 disgusting pounds that I spent the previous 3 - 4 months losing. Well, when I lost those pounds I bought new jeans and now that I've gained it back my new jeans have been super-duper tight. Anyway - I was thinking about it the other day and super tight pants (of course will suck in general), but, I'm thinking it will also make it difficult to mount my horse (steve, dave, it may sound funny but keep it clean people - we're on a family cruise) :lmao: Anyway...Ryan and I are having a debate. I have jeans that are WAY to big (which is what Ryan thinks I should wear), or I was thinking of buying a small sweat suit or jogging suit to wear for horseback riding for easy mounting (keep it clean people!). :lmao: So, I say that a sweat suit would be better because the material is more flexible and comfortable which allows for good movement - plus - jeans that are way to big could be just as frustrating as jeans that are too tight, right?? On the other hand, Ryan says that jeans that are too big would be better. And FINALLY she gets to the question: So, what do you regular horse riders think would be better?? :confused3

It must be late or my Catholic school experience was kicking in because I wasn't thinking anything "dirty" until you kept telling me to keep it clean. You subconsciously planted dirty thoughts and should be ashamed of yourself :) j/k

Go for comfort, not style. Baggy, over-sized jeans don't sound like they're going to be any more comfortable than tight jeans. As for flexibility, if your jeans are too tight, you either wont be able to get your leg over the saddle or you'll tear your jeans, both of which would be embarrassing. If you going to go the sweat suit route, go with cotton; avoid manufactured fibers as they might chafe.

As for the acronym, I told you I purposely butchered it to make it hard, meaning I included things like "to" as one of the letters. If it helps, the clue is in Ryan's signature.

Considering I fully flashed an entire auditorium of people once while I was performing leaves me less sensitive to embarrassment over showing my knickers  Subsequently, the teasing and dirty comments thrown my way after that incident taught me to appreciate the dirty, so no shame there either! :lmao:

And the acronym?

Kris - We are doing door magnets too. They are covering about half of our fridge right now. I couldn’t find paper that would work in a laser printer so I had to make my own with my new Xyron. Amy said I have to turn in my man card since I’ve been dragging her to Michael’s every week to use our 40% off coupons to buy supplies for it. Please don’t tell the guys at work.

Jessica - I'd never joke about a horse, of course. Being raised in the city, the only horse I have experience with is with a basketball. And growing up short and fat with bad aim, I can't say you should take my advice on that game either.

I say loose jeans because they are more durable. I caution anyone against going on the cruise with clothes that are already a bit snug as, speaking from personal experience here, you'll feel like you are going to rip through them like the Incredible Hulk by day 5 or 6.

Well, I've officially converted our guest room into a luggage staging area. I've got our FE's about 95% ready and they pretty much fill a huge suitcase. I haven't zipped it up to weigh yet but I'm guessing it's about 40 pounds. 35 of that is dog food. I love Costco!

I also got a good head start on packing. Just the essentials...

- My collection of lava lamps (mostly because I don't want someone to break into my house and steal them while I'm away)
- A framed autographed picture of me to give to the Captain
- Matthew Broderick voodoo doll (I have no explanation as to why I have such an intense, irrational hatred of him)
- Bob Marley tie-dye shirt to wear for debarkation to see if U.S. Customs profiles me and pulls me aside
- My unfinished Princess Di scrapbook so I can work on it onboard
- Violet and creamsicle-orange paisley bandana (my gang colors so everyone knows not to mess with me)
- A "Get Out of Jail Free" card written in both English and Spanish. I'm not sure if it will work in port but it's worth a try if I get picked up.
- Breakdancing pants (because tequila is unpredictable)
- An empty tarantula cage. I want to leave it on my nightstand with the lid propped open. This will keep the cabin steward on his toes so he doesn't get careless and accidentally break one of my lava lamps.
- Toothbrush

I'm sure I'm missing something but I have time.

So THAT'S how you and Ryan met. I've always wondered. :rotfl2:

You share your story with us over dinner and I'll share my story about my costume fashion show at the mall. :rolleyes1 I'm sure I'll leave out a few details but I know Amy will gladly fill you in.

-steve

And FINALLY she gets to the question: So, what do you regular horse riders think would be better?? :confused3
I vote for baggy jeans. With sweats there just might not be enough there with friction and such. But if you plan on keeping your horse at a slow walk the whole time, then go with what you want. Sit on a chair backwards (pick one without arms please :rotfl2:) and that is probably what you will be sitting like for the ride. That was the closest I could get for clean. :rolleyes1 Hope that helps.

BTW, last time I did no magnets & no FE's. Jeff just asked if we should get another suitcase to take all the FE and other stuff I am making. And I am NOT a craft driven person. Maybe I just want to impress all of you. :lovestruc

Cheryl-are you actually in Carson City? I lived in Minden (actually Johnson Lane out by the airport) for about 8 years. Small world. :cool2:

Later,
Sue

Steve,

You're missing the hat with the dreadlocks in your list :)

My man card was revoked long ago, probably after a coworker taught me how to knit. There was also an incident in Nevada that didn't help, but I won't go into that here. You can always ask onboard.

My wife has no interest in the magnets, tshirts, etc., but my SIL is so I have her on my side (FWIW). As for the magnets, I opted to print them on photo paper today, and will laminate them tomorrow and attach magnetic tape. Seemed like the cheapest way to go. I did think of that machine from Michaels, but opted for a laminating machine instead. We'll see how they turn out :)

Good luck on the marathon by the way. Will probably forget in the excitement to say so sooner to the actual race.

No Problemo Jessica, just wear what I do when I ride!

OMG I am totally in tears laughing at your comments Steve .... I was ROLLING you and Dave are for SURE the entertainment onboard that they are talking about - you keep the boards in stitches !

Jessica- I would wear the Jeans but if they are so loose they are falling off your butt I dont know if you will like that - We are not doing any hard core riding so I wouldnt worry about it . They will probbably have a mounting block so none of us will have to mount from the ground up but you never know - I opt for a mounting block !!!!:laughing::laughing:
Did your giftcard go thru ? I sent it 2 days ago please let me know as it was a little tricky

I knew I was forgetting something. I'll put it in my carry-on mon!

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who has lost his card. My wife, who usually gets in to the FE, didn't this time. Maybe it's just because I took over. :rolleyes1

We bought laminating sheets and magnetic tape for our last cruise. They turned out fine and we had no problems.

On another note, I thought I had finished my FE map which looked great on screen. I printed it out and you need a magnifying glass to see anything. Maybe I'll just take it to work and print it on our plotter. 24x36 outta do it but I'll need to pack an easel.

I'll have to work on it some more tonight. :surfweb:

I just got off the phone with DVC member services, our vacation for December is booked! Now I have to start planning...........

Even the dancing banana is excited

It seems like we are always in a constant state of vacation planning in one form or another since we joined DVC. We usually book right at the 11 month window so it's like torture watching the vacation countdown clock.

I had this grand plan to bake gingerbread cookies next week. I figured it would be a good snack and maybe help with any upset stomach. But then I remembered they won't let me on with them will they? :confused3 Grrrrrr:sad2:

Hey everyone!

We are getting very excited - - started packing last night. Even though we are not participating in FE's, I wanted to let anyone interested know that we are in cabin 2078.

If any tween girls are interested in a friend, Ashlie (11) would love to have someone to hang out with in the Edge (so excited that it's open!)

Counting down . . .

Darrcie

Hi Darcie, I'm Dave, resident troublemaker (along with my newfound Mentor Steve, guru of the lavalamp). My daughter Alex is turining 10 on the cruise, although she believes she's 16, and she is hoping to find someone to hang with too. Maybe they can talk beforehand? Shoot me an email if you want, dpomeranz@gmail.com and we'll introduce them. Alex is super friendly, unless you happen to be her brother. : )

Thanks,

Dave
