Disney Wonder Jan 23, 2011

The Queen Mary is awful. Really awful, dirty and run-down. Very strange, and not in a good way.

If you do go, and if you take the tour, you should ask for James. Very amusing, and not in a good way.

It's meant to be awful; that way you appreciate modern cruise ships that much more when you board. :)

I actually shared a table with a woman at lunch who had been a passenger on thee QM while taking the train to Seattle for an Alaskan cruise. She was very interesting, although my DW wasn't thrilled when she started talking about on crossIng where they hit waves reaching 40 feet and how everyone was sick onboard as a result.

Holy cow two weeks! This is awesome. My dining room table is covered in FE's! Our cabin is 7064, so I'm having my head shaved and 7064 tattooed. Probably backward so I can remember where I parked when I look in a mirror. 1

Ashley and I are in 7 0 9 4 so if you get really confused one night we will know where to send you.

so i am finishing up my FE gifts and trying to get them packed away and ready to go... there are some people that we still do not have cabin #'s for.. any way we can get them? Pretty please??

Thanks!

cdnsluvdisney

Ok so there is only one cabin.. i thought there was more.. but please can we have this info? thanks!!

Andrea in Vegas... who just CANT WAIT to turn 40!! (cause then we'll be cruising!!! hahah)

I'v been asking for cdnsluvdisney's room number for weeks and still nothing.
I can not even find one post from them:confused3 I have most of my FE gifts packed so I'm leaving them out for now. I think I might of over done it with the FE gifts. Two suitcases just for FE :rotfl2: oh well lots of room to bring things home:banana:

V E A D ( bklawyer ) Dont worry I got it covered sailing sure and Cheryl and her hubbie will be my seeing eye people at Cabo Wabos If you get too wasted on the Ta Kill Ya you can hire one of them to guide you back - I could loan you a pair of sunglasses if you REALLY want to look offical :cool1::cool1::cool1::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2

Does anyone know how to check if storms are going to be occouring during the cruise ? I hate to freak people out but my step dad herd on the news somewhere today that we are supposed to be getting a storm which is coming from Mexico in about 2 weeks YIKES !!!:confused3 So if anyone is smart and knows how to figure this out PLEASE POST HERE !!! I am really curious if the info is right or not ... That would SUCK if we had bad weather or Rain on sail away :-(

2 weeks and counting - Once I get thru this next week I can start packing formal wear and such . I need it for this next week or it would already be in the bag !
No not odd to have a whole suitcase full of FEs I know I will !!!! I need to finish my FEs and finish sewing my FEs for me and Ambers family Im getting low on time and I dont want to scramble like I usually do !

Happy sunday all - tomorrow we can start saying one week and 6 days WOO HOO ONE WEEK I LOVE THAT WORD but not as much as ONE DAY :rotfl2:

You can always request a change onboard. They start taking the request at around 1 p.m. in Wave Bands. We're actually trying late seating this time around as we always seemed to be having to refeed my DS later in the evening anyways. He thought the late night pizza was the bomb; personally, I thought it was disgusting.

We are big fans of the late seating. Don't feel rushed after shore excursions, you can nap, less crowds at show, did I mention nap?

small world category.......

my daughter goes in for her eye appt. exam today. Her eye guy is the husband of my former office mate (we shared back in 2001 when I first went into private practice).

Tabi asks if he can expedite her contacts as she is leaving on cruise next week.

Dr. : Really? So are we!!
Tabi: We are going to Mexico!!
Dr.: Really? So are we?
Tabi: We are on Disney.
Dr.: Really, so are we!
Tabi: Leaving on the 23rd?
Dr. - yup, and so is Mike M. and his wife (acquaintances) and soandso and his wife....

So, apparently there is a whole southern oregon group coming from po-dunk Klamath Falls on the cruise. I will let Bonnie, Mrs. D., know about disboards this evening.....amazing, no?

YES, I think you have won the Small World award! It is almost spooky. Klamath Falls is not that big, either. :cool2: Well at least from what I remember. It has been a few years.

OK, I am still working on fine tuning the FE map. As soon as I get the last few additions on it I will find a way to post it. If anyone has the list of who added since Dave and his family it would be amazing as I have not written them down. It would save me from going back and reading all of our posts now that we have become a chatty little group again. :surfweb: I'll be back around tomorrow evening.
Thanks,
Sue
edit: I have Kristine & Geoff as my last addition, Dave was the one before them. Sorry. ;)

Hey all, a big thank you on behalf of all of us latecomers!!!! I am STILL surprised there is even such a thing is the DISboards. We found it by accident while trying to learn more about what we needed to do to prepare. I told the DW to sign on and say hi, but she figures now that you all know me, you'll never believe she is normal. She has to meet people first and ease them into Dave! I'm just super-fun-loving! I know that's hard on the wife when she's trying to get the kids to come to dinner and I say stuff like "if we leave now, we can be a Disneyland by 7:30!" She usually just gives me a dog biscuit to behave. I'll bring extra for Denver; we can share.

Hey Karen, I was in Oregon once to perform. I wanna say Salem. It was several years ago and we stayed with my best friend from school in Monmouth. I don't know where that is in relation to where you are. I recall it was amazingly green. It was really beautiful. And the small town feel was very comfortable. I just loved it there.

Ok, now I'm really going to pack, instead of just staring at all the stuff laid out everywhere thinking "if I fake my own death, I can get out of helping Jess pack all of this stuff." It didn't work the previous times I tried it, like at our wedding, and when our kids were born, but why not give it another go?

Appreciate all of you adding us late in the game for the FE list. I've been working on mine and just about done, whew! That's a big bunch! And funny how much more space they take up all fixed up. Shipping them to CA this week for my mom to bring along when she picks us up. One less suitcase to worry about! This has been so much fun, except for my dogs upset that I've got treats they can't get into! Lol I know the dogs will love all the cookies my son picked out for them. Just a little over a week away woohoo! Can't wait! Thanks again you guys!

Naps are always a great part of vacations.

This will be our first experiment with late seating with DS, but I think it will work better than early seating. I also like the fact that we see the show first.

Be careful though. I think naps are why we missed a show or two. We would get busy and then worn out. We would go back to the room for "just for a few minutes" and before we knew it it was dinnertime or time to dress for dinner. :scared1:
I am excited about the late seating this time to see how it works with them taking Alec away early :wizard: and leaving us to enjoy our dinner and our table mates. :cloud9:
OH & if anyone has kids that are around Alec's age (10 almost 11) and LOVE the water, he would love for someone to keep him company in the pool. Make sure you mention it when we meet up the first day. He gets so bored by himself (in his mind) and knowing some one in the pool will make it easier for him. We will always be poolside with him but just someone to hang out with IN the water. :cool2:

Jessica- :hug:Thank you for the add on's. I will try to add them to my map this afternoon.
Anyone know if I can convert the pdf file to a jpg file and put it on photobucket or is there a better idea than e-mailing it to everyone? My e-mail has been so unpredictable lately. :sad2: and posting it here would be so much easier.

Later,
Sue
We are sooooooooooooooooo close! pirate::sail:

Two easy ways to convert a pdf to a jpg. If you have photoshop, then it's really easy. Just hit "save as..." I can do it for you if you don't have PS.

The second way is to go to www.zamzar.com and upload it to them. In about a minute they will email you back the doc in jpg format. They can change any format into any other format for free in just a few seconds. Great website!

Thanks,

Dave

Salem is about 4 hours north and on the "other" side of the mountain range. WEt rainy (hence the green). State capital.....Monmouth, interestingly enough, is a dry city....no alcohol. Go figure. Police academy is there, perhaps they can't trust 'em?

So, Dave, we will be discussing why you are not a member of NACBA.....

And by the way....there is a third atty -- eye doc's wife is an attorney. She doesn't practice bky law, -- family law and immigration law.

Who will be celebrating this Packer victory on the Wonder with me? How many cheeseheads are on this cruise? Go Pack!
