Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

I fifth it! If they do one-ways I'll have to book BTB, which would be cool for the ports but would probably be cost prohibited. :scared:

How did Aulani's occupancy rates look for mid-Sept 2013? I keep seeing discounts offered for Aulani cash reservations (Disney Visa, Passholders, etc) so if they're looking to boost Aulani's occupancies with cruise pre- or post-stays, then the one-way cruises make more sense.

I'd be flying out to start/endpoint regardless, so at least HNL gets me more miles than LAX.

What about a one way to HNL from Vancouver; then a one way back to Vancouver; then a repo to LA; then a PC cruise? That would make sense, unless they wanted to return to Ensenada and then run a couple west coast cruises...

Of course, if PC hasn't finished their expansion by then, maybe they could go ahead and do the drydock with the fishtail and then do Aussie cruises...

Anyway, I personally would love a one-way to Hawaii as we could then stay a little longer in Hawaii after the cruise. I have been using a Hawaiian Airlines CC for years and have saved up enough points for 2 round trip tickets - or almost enough for 2 one way first class!

True, and I can see Disney doing this to boost Aulani occupancies. I also can see them doing roundtrip cruises with a day excursion to Aulani like they did last time as a teasers to entice people back.

I think the hardest part of 1 way from Vancouver is if it takes 4 or almost 5 days to get there, that leaves little port time for a 7 day cruise. I can't see them wanting to drop passengers off in Ensenada and bussing over the border as other cruise lines have done. So it would probably have to be Vancouver.

I think I remember folks that were on the first ( or second) DCL hawaii cruise commenting that it would have been really nice to have cruised along the Na Pali coast, but DCL did not. Anyone from those cruises know if they added a cruise-by for the Na Pali coast on either of those cruises? Any chance there were comments made on the comment cards that might make DCL consider it for a future itinerary?? Maybe DCL is listening to us and will add it to any future DCL Hawaii cruises!!

I would think these would be 2 one way, 10 day cruises; 5 days at sea, 5 days in ports; then return, 5 days in ports, 5 days at sea.

I think they will incorporate it into the Vancouver-LA repo. No stop at Ensenada required.

As long as the cruise is one cruise from Vancouver to LA with stops in Hawaii, the stop in Ensenada is not required.

Same in reverse, if the cruise is LA to Vancouver with stops in Hawaii, Ensenada would not have to be also included in the itinerary.

However, If DCL wants to do 2 one ways (Vancouver to Hawaii and then Hawaii to LA/San Diego), the Hawaii to LA cruise would not be allowed due to PVSA requirements of a required stop in a "distant" foreign port. They could do a Hawaii to Ensenada and then bus their guests to the US, as other cruiselines do. But I don't think that will happen.

That is what I meant - that they will make it one long repo cruise from Vancouver to LA.

DCL didn't ask for my input, but I think they'd be wise to offer two one-way cruises between Vancouver and Honolulu, followed by a Vancouver to LA repo cruise. That way they could offer add-ons at Aulani on each end. I thought that's what DCL had in mind for Sept. 2013 -when several Hawaiian ports had the Wonder on their schedules for two visits. DCL could offer a Vancouver to LA cruise, but it would be a long one, and they couldn't do a tie-in with Aulani.

I asked my travel agent to move an onboard booking to a Hawaii cruise IF it is a repo from Vancouver. I'm not interested in a roundtrip from CA.

I agree with the 10 day cruises. September 17 was the day spotted for Honolulu. That's a Thursday. The Wonder is sailing the 7-night Alaska cruises out of Vancouver on Mondays in 2014 (which is why the Friday 5/24 9-night sailing is bumped to the Ballantyne Pier). If they resume 7-night Alaska cruises sailing on Mondays out of Vancouver in 2015, a 10-night cruise sailing out of Vancouver on Monday, 9/7/15 would terminate in Honolulu on Thursday, 9/17/15.

Perfect!! My kids should be on break from 9/7 to 9/30 in 2015. Let's just hope we can afford it...

Yep, they could do 10 days, but that would make BTB even more costly. :sad1:

I was on the first Hawaii cruise and wrote them a letter asking them to add this... okay begging them... but alas to no avail. :sad2:

I'm sorry. I haven't read the whole thread.

My question is, does anyone remember what the previous Hawaii cruises cost? I'd love to do this.

Hi All,

From what I've read, the disney Hawaii cruises book up very fast. With the castaway club gold and platinum members having first dibs on the release, is there any chance that the ship will be fully booked before it's even open to the public?

As it turns out, the rumoured Hawaii cruise will match up with our 10th anniversary in Oct 2015 AND we honeymooned in Hawaii. Fate?!

Do we have a hope of booking?

I'm quoting because I'd like to know a historic pricing point, as well. Hopefully someone will come in with info or point us to the right direction.

Subbing, I want to stay on top of this in hopes to get the info to my TA and book as soon as possible.

I was on the first Hawaii cruise. When they started selling passage it was very busy and could be called sold out in say 2 weeks. Then they announce the October cruise. Many people bailed and went to that cruise. The October cruise was so empty that they had a whole rotation empty. This really affected the crews tips and I really don't see DCL doing this cruise again. The crossings were rough and cool to cold weather. The Hawaii ports were not the most popular and the times were very short in half the ports. In Oahu we were ther on a Sunday. The Ploynesian Cultral Center is closed on Sundays so that was a huge bummer to the many people that wanted to go there.
Don't get me wrong though I enjoyed the trip but I don't think DCL will do it again.
But if they do Great!

We were on the October cruise. It wasn't a whole rotation. The late seating on one rotation was not done. It was the same rotation we had, but we were on early seating. Yes, that will affect the tips for those servers on that rotation.

The weather we had was actually quite nice, I'd say it was in the high 60s to low 70s for the at sea days, and higher than that, of course, in Hawaii. I only recall one day of really rough seas the day before we got to Ensenada. And the skies were clear and sunny that day, just the seas were rough.

We are silver and was able to book the first cruise before it sold out. I would imagine it sold faster than normal since it was the inaugural. We were 1 adult and 2 kids in a 4A and it cost over $12,000 if that helps anyone. Sorry, I can't recall the exact amount. I thought there was a pricing thread, searching may find it.
