Cast of Characters: DH, Me, DD5 and DS 7 months.
Background info: This is our second Disney Cruise. We spent five days at WDW before the cruise.

Day 3 - Tuesday, July 5

3:30 a.m. - WAAAH!! (Apologies to the cabin next to ours!) DS and I ended up on the verandah again for a bit. He finished his bottle and went back to sleep, thankfully. DD and DH slept through it all, including me tripping over the table into the pack and play.

At about 6:30 - 7:00, DS woke again and wanted some food. This time, I could see Castaway Cay in the distance. :cheer2: I woke DH, thinking he'd want to see us dock. However, he wanted to sleep some more.

Well, DS had different ideas and ended up spitting up all over him. Oops. :teeth:

I went to do some laundry while DH went to BBB with DD for more waffles and fruit Loops. He asked for some gluten-free biscuits at the buffet line and the CM told him they couldn't do it, so he had some fresh fruit.

A word about the laundry rooms - is the washer/dryer combo complicated to use or am I just dense? At one point, the dryer was going off even though I had no clothes in there. When I got back to switch the clothes, I still had 20 minutes on the dryer and when I added more money, it wanted to turn the washing machine back on. I was so confused. :confused3 I think it was too early in the morning. Yeah, that's it.

By the time DH and DD got back, we were docked at Castaway Cay. I covered everyone in a thick layer of 50 SPF and at about 10:00 we headed out into the sun.

We stopped to get towels and then take our picture in front of the Wonder. There were only two or three famlies in front of us. Then, DD had her picture taken at the Fresh Catch back drop. She then had a picture with Max. So cute, those pictures. She missed Mickey and Minnie, so we didn't have to stop and wait in those lines. We were already hot.

We decided to walk to the family beach, instead of taking the tram. It didn't seem that bad going out. Probably because we were excited to be on the beach. We walked passed the bar and got on the beach in front of the water park area. Got great chairs under an umbrella and palm tree.

We set up DS' cabana and put him in it. It worked great! It is the infant cabana from A Step Ahead. It worked perfectly - protected DS, while giving him his own space.

Meanwhile, DD and DH went to play in the water. After convincing DD that there were no jellyfish, crabs, sharks or whales in the water, the two of them thoroughly enjoyed the bathlike water.

DD was too little to go on the water attractions and that was probably a good thing, as it looked crazy there. After about an hour of us being at the beach, they closed those attractions all together. DH said that kids were coming off the ropes with rope burns and blisters. Ouch!

DS in the meantime had discovered sand and proceeded to eat about half the beach. I was buying $2.00 bottles of water to rinse out his mouth. Talk about crazy! But, he was having so much fun. When DH and DD got out of the water, I bought DS and DD sand toys, since we didn't have any. They loved them. DD has never played at the beach before, so she had a blast making sand figures. DS just loved chewing his toys and eating the sand. While DH and DD went to Cookies, I took DS into the water to get him rinsed off.

That was my downfall. Although I covered everyone else in 50 SPF, I seemed to have missed my own arms. It was 95 degrees, I was in full sunlight for several hours and spent about 30 minutes in the water. I am extremely fair. So, DH and DD came back from Cookies and DH looked at me and said, "Let's go. You're arms are purple." Reluctantly, I packed everything up and headed back to the ship around 2:00. At first, I thought he was overreacting, but by the time we passed Cookies, I was really starting to feel the sun. I skipped eating lunch.

Now, our biggest mistake of the trip -- we walked back. Poor DD. She was wearing flip flops and trudged the whole way back. By the time we got to the ship, she was crying hysterically. By the time we were in our room, her foot was bleeding profusely. He flip flops had completely cut through her skin. I felt soo bad. Luckily, she's my little trooper and a Dora the Explorer band-aid made it all better. She wore sneakers for the rest of the trip.

We got back to the room and all passed out. Seriously. My arms were purple and the sun had just killed me. When we woke up, it was about 4:30. DH took DD for some pizza and I got DS and myself ready for Pirate Night. Then, he and I headed for Bingo in the Promenade Lounge. DD and DH met us there, but they were NOT ready for dinner. Unfortunately, Bingo lasted longer than I expected and by the time we returned to our room to get DD and DH changed, it was already 5:45. When we got back to the room, the floor of our cabing was soaked. The vent in our ceiling was leaking a steay stream of water. I called maintance and requested to have it fixed during dinner. We ended up being 15 minutes late for dinner at Animator's Palate. Sorry!

During dinner, we got some great photos of the kids in their Pirate hats and of DD joining the Pirate Conga line. It was a lot of fun - the best dinner of the cruise, for us. I don't remember what I ate because I hadn't eaten anything all day and just woofed down my food. I don't think I tasted a bite. DS was feeling good because of his nap and we all just had a lot of fun.

After dinner, we picked up our pictures at Shutters and then dropped DD at the Club and DS at Flounders. DH and I went to see Mike Super (Magician) in the theatre. I wished we had taken DD. He was SOOO funny and she would have loved it. He picked a kid from the audience to help him and the kid totally stole the show. But, to Mike's credit, he rolled with it and still delivered a great show. My stomach was hurting from laughing so much. The levitation trick he does is pretty amazing. I want to know the secret!

After the show, we bought some souveniers and picked up DD. Then, we headed to the Goofy Pool for some Pirate fun. DD had a great spot - right up in front of the stage. She danced her heart out and had a ton of fun...until Captain Hook appeared. Then, she turned into jello and was crying to get out of there. After Stitch turned up and the fireworks started, she was herself again, getting back to the front row to watch the dancers and pirates end the show. She even yelled at Captain Hook that Mickey was going to save the ship! pirate:

We all danced and played at the Pirates party until it was time to pick DS up from Flounders. Again, the staff there was so wonderful and had nothing but nice things to say about DS. That made me feel so much better about having him there.

We headed back to the cabin. The river flowing from our ceiling had stopped, but it still smelled wet. Ick.

I applied some Basin Sun Butter to my arms (highly recommended) and we settled in for the night.

Next: Day 4, My turn at the Spa

Sounds like fun. We didn't take DS to the beach. It was just so hot and he was so little. He stayed at Flounders and then later on with DH. I'm jealous your DS had so much fun.

DD and I also were right in front of the stage at the pirate party and she also got a little freaked out by Captain Hook. She had fun though.

Keep those reports coming. You are inspiring me to get started on writing ours down.

Tell me though: what is the "late" seating if the early seating is 5:45pm. I originally wanted late but my mom talked me out of it and we have early. 5:45 seems too early to me. Just wondering what the late seating will be.

Thanks

Late seating on the Wonder is 8:00, 8:15, and 8:30, depending on your dining rotations. Early seating is 5:45, 6:00 and 6:15, again depending on your dining rotation.

:flower: I loved reading your trip reports! Please keep them coming. I am sorry about the blsiters on DD's foot. Those Dora bad-aids do make it all better :goodvibes When you called maintenance , were they friendly about fixing your vent? Keep the post coming , I love hearing them!

I actually got passed through to Guest Services, who then called maintenance. We never saw or talked to them directly. :flower:

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'll work on Day 4 tonight.
