I posted this in the regular trip reports forum, but thought I'd put it out here, too, since it is also a trip report for the Disney Wonder 4-nighter. The report is filled with details, pics and videos. It was my 5th Disney cruise but a first with our kids. We also had extended family join us and for most of them it was their first cruise. We had a really great time and hope you enjoy reading the report! :goodvibes

If you have any questions, just ask on this thread!

Let me just say, I think I am going to LOVE this trip report! I am skimming it over right now b/c I am getting ready for work, and it looks awesome! I am printing it out to read later. Question, though: How did your 5-month-old do on the trip? i.e. -- naps? bedtime? eating in dining rooms? did you go to sleep together every night at the same time when they did? what time was that? did you feel like you didn't get to do any of the nighttime activities? The reason I am asking is we have a 6-month-old and 4-year-old. We're leaving the 6-month-old at home with the grandparents b/c I want him to be on a schedule as much as possible. Although, I know I am going to miss him terribly and skimming through your trip report I see you guys did it! So now I don't know!!!! If you did it again and had the ability to leave your 5-month-old at home for this trip with grandparents or someone you trusted would take care of their needs in a more stable environment, would you have done that? Or would you still have taken him? You seem a lot like us with describing trying to be on a schedule and whatnot...
sorry for all the questions!
thanks!

Hi!
The sleeping is one thing I definitely talk about nearly every day in the TR. The baby wasn't a problem at all with the sleeping, it was the 2yo that gave us such problems. She pretty much didn't nap and gave such struggle getting down to sleep at night.
If given the choice, I wouldn't leave the baby home. He was too easy to travel with. We also took our daughter (the 2yo) to Disney World at 5mo and again at 1yo and 5mo was a lot easier to travel with than a 1yo. I hope that helps answer that question.

As far as night activity, I am not much of a night person and have done the nightlife onboard before. I didn't feel like I was missing anything at all -- I didn't want to participate kids or no kids. My husband was able to get out for the Pirate party and that made him happy. But he isn't a nightlife person either. We all enjoyed the daytime activities much much more.

I hope you enjoy my TR and let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Your TR was awesome! Thanks for sharing! I have been pondering the "to take or not to take" the 6-month-old for awhile, and ultimately I think we are going to leave him with the Gparents who he knows very well. I had a bad experience while taking our 2005 DCL cruise with my then 1 1/2-year-old. He got croup while we were a couple days into our Magic cruise, and let me tell you, that is not fun. My heart broke seeing him having to use that nebulizer in the medical facilities. I ended up not doing much since all they want is mommy when they're sick. And even though I know he can still get sick this time too, I don't want to subject my 6-month-old to the germs. He won't remember this vacation and I think the 4-yr-old will like the alone time with us! But I will miss him sooooo much! Also, I think it would be easier if I was still BFing the little one. How does one go about washing bottles???!! In your room sink??!:confused3
Anyway, thanks for the informative TR! Did you have a hard time getting amelia back on schedule at home? what was wrong with your first two rooms at the boardwalk in the second half of your trip?

I am so glad you enjoyed the TR!

We only had to prepare bottles for the baby three times since I BF him a majority of the time. One time we had the full sink/kitchen in our villa to be able to clean it out and on the cruise the two times we had bottles, I had the small bottle of dish liquid and a small scrub brush to clean it out. Otherwise, he was easily breastfed no matter where we were on our trip.

Well, the first room at the BWV we waited ALL DAY for and it was at the very very end of the very very long hallway. I know I should have taken this room but when the CM pointed it out to me I literally was befuddled. I had tears in my eyes from being stressed out waiting all day and looked at the guy and said, "You mean to tell me that I waited ALL DAY (checked in super early in the morning) to lug all our stuff, two babies to a room at the very very end of the resort?" Poor guy probably didn't know what to do with a crying mother in front of his eyes. So he called housekeeping and got us our second room. We got there (lugged all our crap and the tired, cranky, kids) only to find that the room was dirty from the last occupants. SO, at that point I was just worn out. I went back to the lobby and asked to speak to the manager. She got us a room quickly and was very nice about it. SO that's it. I know I shoudl have just taken the first room but when I had checked in that morning I had a discussion about room location and I understand that requests are just requests, but she assured me that our room was in a great spot. I was just, when I found out where it really was.

I am sure you didn't want a dissertation from me, but that's what happened.

As for Amelia, she got right back on schedule once at home. No problem. This girl is such a creature of habit and THRIVES on schedules!
