My family was on the Disney Wonder this past week and we saw what looked liked a Boeing 737 make low passes past the ship multiple times. It happened just after sunset on our return to Galveston (11/29). The ship was in the Gulf of Mexico on our first sea day headed back to Galveston, TX from Nassau. Just wondering if anyone else on the boat saw it or has experienced anything similar on a previous cruise? I'm assuming it was a military aircraft (maybe a P8) on a training exercise but who knows.

I have seen similar plane\cruise ship encounters on YouTube. Seems to be a bit of pilot fun and games... as long as they don't get too close.

Thought it was a GOOD Battle of the Horns.

We got to experience a battle of the horns a couple years ago. We were on the Dream and did a sail by the Fantasy as it was leaving Castaway Cay. The Dream has one extra horn that the Fantasy doesn't so our Captain kept hitting that one over and over.

View of the Fantasy as we were sailing parallel to them.

How was your cruise?

How was your cruise?

The cruise was great. It only rained the morning we were in Nassau (I must have missed the horn battle) but the rest of the time it was beautiful and surprisingly smooth. We only really felt the ship rocking 1 night. Snorkeling at Castaway Cay was neat and the water was clear. The water temp was a bit chilly at first but I got use to it quickly. Had some great Conch Fritters in Key West. My family took home 3 separate trivia metals on the ship and our girls saw goofy at least 5 times (2 were character meets, the rest were by chance). We also had a great fish extender group and my girls recieved so many neat gifts. And finaly, we got to see a 737 fly by our window while eating dinner, at Tiana's Place with the Crawfish Crooners jamming in the background how cool is that! My family is really into airplanes so we were excited to see it. The only part that we didn't like was the emergency horn went off one day while we were on deck 9. It scared most of the kids half to death, I thought maybe someone fell overboard but thankfully it was a false alarm and everything and everyone was ok. It was our 3rd time on the Wonder, 4th for my mom and we are hoping to sail on her again in a couple years or so. :)
