Has anyone stayed in 7136 or 7636 handicap accessible rooms? I called DCL to make sure that they were reg. verrandas and not navigator verrandas. The CM said that they were just like regular verrandas but instead of having plexiglass on the bottom of the railing it was a solid wall. Is this accurate? Does anyone have a picture of an accessible room verranda? Tx!

On a related matter, remember to ask about the handing of the accessible toilet if this is an issue for you.

I did the cruise a few years back though not in either of those rooms.

I had trouble transferring from my chair to the toilet and back because the 'hand' of the bathroom was wrong for me. Had I thought to ask in advance, DCL could have allocated me a room on the other side of the ship, which would have had a mirror image bathroom.

I have been in those staterooms. The verandah is large but narrow and there is a bit of a bump to get out there, plus unless you are He-Man, ( or woman) the sliding door is extremely heavy. The solid verandah means you cannot see the ocean from inside your room and while in your w/c you will need to crane your neck a bit once outside to see over the railing and also get right up to the railing to see out. The room itself is large with plenty of turning radius- those rooms sleep a max of 3 guests. There is a roll in shower...no tub and only space on either the left or right to transfer to a toilet, as Andrew discovered. ---Kathy
