Disney Wold to Port - luggage question - please help :)

We will be staying onsite at Disney World, then going on a cruise from Port Canaveral directly after our WDW trip. We have hired private transportation instead of using Disney transportation to the port. We have always used Disney transportation in the past. Will we need to take our luggage with us in the car? Or can we still set our luggage out for Disney to handle? Thanks so much!

If you haven't booked DCL transport then you need to take the luggage yourself. It's easy though just as they drop you at the port somebody takes it from you right away.

I called DCL with same question. There is an option, you have to call Embarkation services prior to the cruise, and they will note it on your reservation. You then have to call back 3 days before the cruise to set it up. The cost is $25.00 for up to six bags. I have it noted on the reservation, but not sure yet if we will use the service or take the luggage in the town car.

I have definitely read about that on the boards before.

Even if you do take it in the car, OP, it's not THAT big a deal. Just get the bags to the car, and when you get to the port the porters will take them and you won't see them again until they are in your room.

Yes, was going to mention this option as well. Have not used it but may look into it for next month's cruise.
