Next year when we go we will not be doing the dinning plan, 1)we are not big eaters,2) we do not want to be tied down to a schedule.

can you use the dinning plan at the food courts? that would be the only way we would get it.

Is there any place I can find a list of menus with approx. costs just to get an idea?

We are planning to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at our resorts food court.

My Kids are very picky, DS (who is Autistic) mostly eats chicken nuggets and does not sit still very often

Here is a link from the Dis main page with menus, etc. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm

There is a quick service dining plan but I'm not sure what it all includes and how many meals per day. Depending on where you are staying, you may find that your choices are very limited as far as "counter service" food at a resort food court.

Ther eis the Quick Service Dining Plan you cna get, currenlty 29.99 for adults, cna't remembe rthe price for kids. You get 2 counter service credits and 2 snack credits per night of your stay plus one refillable mug. It cna be used at any counter service place, not just at your resort. However, the refillable mug can't be used in the parks.

To the OP from your posts on the Resort board it seems like you plan on staying at the Contemporary, so if you did not go with the Quick Service Dining Plan you can try the counter service locations at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian which are all very good and easy to access by the Resort Monorail.

If you want to eat at food courts, the QSDP is great. We used it last time we went. We ate breakfast and dinner in our resort food court and just had snacks instead of lunches. It was definitely enough food. Like you, we spend a lot of time at the resort because of an autistic child so this was a fantastic option for us. Because the QSDP comes with the refillable mugs, DH and used our mugs for coffees, grabbed a bottle of water each for the park and a yoghurt instead of our second drink with breakfast. The yoghurt went back to the room and into the fridge for later. Our youngest frequently wanted cereal with milk for breakfast (only 1 snack credit) so we had enough meal credits left over at the end to get breakfasts on our last day as well. We also use the GFCF diet and I spoke with the chef at the resort ahead of time on the phone as well as with Special Diets and the chef even special ordered in some foods for my daughter.

Take a look at the disABILITIES board for some ideas for managing WDW with an autistic child. Read through the information about Guest Assistance Cards in the stickies. Ask any questions you can think of. Disney really does take good care of special needs guests.
