Disney with infant twins?

I have to second the poster who mentioned RSV as a risk, depending on when you are due and planning to travel (sorry I can't remember - pregnancy does take away brain cells just like everyone tells you!). I was induced at 36 weeks because our daughter needed surgery, and she was in the NICU for 23 days recovering. They had tested to make sure her lungs were mature, but even so, it took just one week of daycare for her to get RSV, bronchiloitis and an ear infection. We had two trips to the ER and breathing treatments at home with a nebulizer - the risk to little ones of RSV is definitely something to take seriously. Also, our ped doesn't want ours to fly because of what she might pick up this young, so we are actually driving from TX to FL for our upcoming trip (DD will be almost 6 mos by then and able to sit up more in the stroller, etc.).

I also second the comments about where you might be at in terms of physical recovery and routine at 3.5 months. I had a very difficult delivery and it took until 3.5 months before I stopped feeling the effects. And the sleep deprivation is harder than you think it will be - showering twice a week really does feel like a huge accomplishment! Now that DD is 4.5 months old, we are in a groove with caring for her and we know how to read her, etc. In the beginning it's a learning curve.

I think it is great that you are expecting and I wish you and your little ones the healthiest of pregnancies. I guess all I am trying to say is - as hard as it may be to not make a firm commitment, I think you'd be wise to keep your options open. Don't feel like you need to make a commitment to the parents that circumstances beyond your control might make it difficult or impossible to keep. You don't need that kind of pressure - hopefully the parents who want you to travel with them will understand.

Everyone is right, savor every moment that you have along the way, and when it is hard and you are tired :faint: just remember that they are always growing and changing, and it is so worth it! Congrats again

Aww, musicmole, this made me cry! Now it could have something to do with me only being 5 days postpartum, and in the weepy period, and sleep deprived, but its so sweet!

I am also a mother of twins and I am going to say the same thing. I was in no shape for any kind of trip (other than to Bed) when my boys were 3 months old. they were 5 months early after a perfect prgnancy and were only 4 pounds when we came home. Only 6-8 pounds when they were 3 months. That is the size of a single full term baby! Both had reflux and the laundry alone was all consuming!
I would plan out a imaginary day. List out the times for feeding, every 2 hours for each baby, including the nights, plan for the diapers, change of clothes, naps etc. Then decide if you would enjoy a trip like this one. Being a mother of multiples is hard work but an amazing blessing. I don't remember half of thier infant days as it is and I could not have added extra work!
Saying all of that about the work I also have to say it is an amzing experience with lots of wonders! Enjoy what you have been given!
We had a 2 year old at the time who would have loved a trip to see cinderella, but it was put off until the boys were older. We are now going this October and my DD is 4 and the boys are turning 2 this month. Now I am ready!!!!

We took our twins (3.5 months old) last October and had a great time!!! We have two other children that were 7 & 2 1/2 at the time of the trip. Our trip was a success because we went with the mindset that my wife or myself would take care of the twins while the other was with the older two. This meant being at the hotel room for naps, browsing in an airconditioned store, taking a drive in the car, etc... at points throughout the day so the twins weren't at the park the whole time. We would meet up throughout the day and switch so that both of us could have time with each pair of kids. The downside is that my wife & I didn't get to spend much time together but we looked at it this way... 1) we made it a priority not to overdue it for the twins, 2) this would be the only trip that we would have to split up as much as we did and 3) anytime at Disney is a good time!!!
