we're going to disney in a few weeks. With a 5 1/2 year old and an 11 month old. The 5 1/2 year old I think I got covered in planning (alot easier than the baby!) But I need some insight/tips
about the 11 month old. Here's what I know/Got:

Requested crib from pop century on my reservation. Planned on brining an extra packnplay sheet.

Bringing our own stroller for him. Actually still have to go buy one - our current one is the infant travel system stroller (is huge) and the wheels fall off. Going to by a reasonably priced lightweight (but not umbrella type). Going to also get a stroller rain cover.

Carseat - bringing, got him his own seat on the plane.

Got a rental car , so we're not packing all the diapers/wipes/formula,/jar food. We'll make a grocery run there - we will bring some though.

ok- what am I forgetting for him?
Any tips on what to bring for toys for him? Any thoughts on how to keep him somewhat occupied on the plane ride? Also - what do you guys suggest as a diaperbag to carry around - I have the huge lands end bag now which I obviously dont want to carry around the park.

thanks for any insight. He's a real mover/squirmy dont sit still guy so I'm a little nervous.

You might want a sling or font carry pack (baby bjorn like).

I used a backpack as a diaper bag last year for 1yr DD. I carried only the essential items, so it wouldnt be too heavy. The backpack was easier to carry while standing in line or taking in restaurants.

We brought DD's favorite toys for the plane ride. She loves books, so it was easy to bring a few lightweight ones.

As for toys for the plane, get new things so they'll keep him interested longer than his usual toys. Other things, stickers, little flap books (my Buck a Book had them for .69) and plenty of snacks. My ds loved playing with the phone on the seatback in front of him. He played with that more than his toys, maybe you'll be lucky and have one near you too!

Other things, which are the obvious are sunscreen, hats, light colored clothing and try and keep them as cool as possible. I have heard people getting fans that attach onto the stroller (they are foam so he couldn't hurt himself), you may want to check into that. I think someone said Target had them.

You'll be amazed how easy it is traveling with an infant, it's when he's 2-3 that you'll have more problems!

Have a great trip!

We took our DD when she was 6 mo. and I have to agree with the idea of bringing some sort of sling or baby carrier. I used a Maya sling and loved it. At MK we learned to just park the stroller in whatever land we happened to be in, carry DD in the Maya sling while in attraction lines, then retrieve the stroller when we were ready to move on to another area of the park. We also took our own stroller and were glad we did. Definitely makes it easier when baby is in a familiar stroller that has full recline and a canopy for shade. We added a clip-on fan from OneStepAhead.com to help keep her cool. It helped some but I am looking for one that is a little more powerful and that hopefully won't eat batteries so quickly. (We averaged going thru at least one set of AA batteries per day.) Good luck. HTH.:)
