So has anyone ever been to disney with any sort of music group?????? I was just wondering because i'm going in february with colorguard as part of the marching band. Can anyone tell me what to expect i mean i've been to disney many times before just not as part as a large group. Not to mention it says that the time we are going is supposed to be really busy.

When in feburary are you going?

Me and my band are going there aswell in Feburary.

I don't know anything about it though :]

Sadly, no. But I don't really think they have any events for orchestra:/

my band is going to disneyworld in march but im not going though. .me and my guard friends decided to go when we graduate cause my mom can get us in cheaper.

Do I have to give you the green folder. lol

I have a green folder filled with info on our bands trip to disney.

oo I have to add who I'm rooming with. Meliss and MIck

But ya the trip should be fun.

I went with my high school two years ago. It was AWESOME!!! My band marched in the Spectromagic Parade in the Magic Kingdom in the evening. It was awesome marching toward the castle. But, when it comes to everything else, we had a good time, but if you ask me, I think that there was too much drama. Couples were getting in arguments, some people got homesick, and some people didn't want to do what the others wanted to do. All my group wanted to do was to ride the rides. They didn't want to see any characters. Because of their stubbornness, I only had time to see one character the whole trip: Pluto (my favorite character.) That's why I really want to go back as soon as I find the time, so I can finally meet Mickey and other cool characters. Maybe during one of my college breaks, I'll go with a couple friends or maybe even by myself.

But that's not the point. The point is to do as much as you can while you're down there. And good luck on your performance. It will be the greatest experience of your life. Trust me. :thumbsup2

I went in November with my band. It was soo much fun, we all can't wait to go back when we're juinors. We drove, even the bus was fun. You will have so much fun with your friends. I loved marching in the parade. It's great to hear your school being called over the speakers. I had seen the Share A Dream Come True parade so many times, that it was extra special to me to be able to be in it. They will give you shirts. XXL. For everyone. Mine goes past my knees. You have to turn off all phones and camera before you can go backstage. But you will have a great time. Have fun!!!

Just curious, as a group, how much does it cost to go?
Just want to know.

The local high school usually goes.. but for some reason this year they're going to Boston instead :confused3 ? There's a chance that next year they'll be going again, which is when I'll be there. I might not join band though, haven't decided yet.

*waves* YAY another guardie. haha
I was in colorguard in high school, and we went to WDW with band my frosh and senior years, and let me tell you, they were SOOOO much fun.

We marched before the Share a Dream Come True parade in MK both times. It's an awesome feeling to be marching down Main St with sooo many people watching you. It especially was cool my senior year, as I was co-captain and along with my other co-captain, we were leading the flagline, so it was such a rush.

Plus, you get to do the Magic Music Days workshops. The band normally does one where they learn music to one of the disney movies, play it, record it, and then have it meshed together with the movie, so instead of the original score, it's them playing in the background.
The guard does a dance workshop. They set it up as a mock-audition dance thing, and it's really fun. They teach you the choreography from bits of some of the shows from WDW, and then we perform them. :)
My guard does Winter Guard, so we also got to perform our own winter guard routines at the Tomorrowland Stage in MK, which was also amazing. :)

One of the coolest parts is seeing the backstage part of disney. and also, if you've never been to WDW without parents, it's SO much fun. We got to roam around with a minimum of 3 students (by ourselves, no chaperones), but had to check in ever so often. Normally, check ins were around noon and 6, so we could get the money/meal tickets for lunch and dinner.

Have fun and if you have any more questions, feel free to either PM me or write them in this thread!

Yeah We are going february 15th through the 20th. I'm so excited to go and march on mainstreet. It feels a little weird though i've been to disney so many times and my other band/guard friends haven't and they look at me like i'm crazy ause when i get going i can't stop...........thanks for all of the advice that you guys have given and i'll gladly accept more lol. My band director hasn't really told us much about the trip, maybe some of you are going down the same time that would be really fun.

We didn't do any workshops, I wish we did though, because they sound like fun. I think it cost us about $675 a person.

We were supposed to go for spring break this year in march. but for some reason only about 15 people out of my 75 people band wanted to go. No one wanted to do the band thing...b/c we all hate it...I didn't want to do the band thing either but I was willing to sacrifice b/c it's Disney World and I've never gotten to go with friends on a long vacation before. Oh well they crushed my dreams.. *psh* losers. haha
