Disney with another family -- how to plan?

We're headed to Disney with my Dad, his girlfriend, her daughter, Son-in-law, and their two daughters in May. We have all been to Disney before but not as a group. I already made dining reservations for our stay, so that's covered! We are staying in a vacation home. I'm just wondering what we should do about planning our days in the parks. Should we get together before the trip to plan ? Should I send an email asking them what the top things are they want to see at each park are and go from there? Any suggestions? I'm the craziest Disney planner in the group, so I don't want to make them crazy, but I don't want to NOT plan, either!

Your best bet might be to make your own plans and then let everyone know what you are planning for your family. If they want to join you -- great, but if not than they can do their own thing.

The problem with big groups tends to be that different people tour at different rates and the commandos and the slow tours don't always get along.

Plan To Spend Some Time Together Some Apart

Set Your Own Family Schedule In Advance Including Get Up And Leave For Park Times, Which Parks Which Days, How Late You Intend To Stay What You Plan To Do If It Rains, What Time Meals Will Be, What Type Of Place You'll Be Looking For Food, List Of Attractions You'd Like To Visit In Each Park.

Present This To The Second Family, Have Them Prepare Their Own. Where Your Plans Intersect Then You Are Together, Otherwise You Are Not.

We Are A Go Go Go Family And We Go Sometimes With A Sleep In, Slow And Easy Family. We Just Get Up And Go, They Call Us When They Get To The Park.

Trying To Address The Wishes Of Multiple Family Members Can Be A Nightmare So It's Best To Go Your Own Way So To Speak. If Those Ways Are The Same, Then You Haven't Forced Them To Do The Things You Want On Your Vacation.

Souveniers Might Come Up To. Let The Family Know In Advance How You Plan To Buy, And Give The Kids. Same With Snacks, Character Meet/greets, Meals.

Also, Have A Plan For How Many Photopass Photos You Will Want And Who Will Be In Them. Some Families Don't Like To Spend Their Disney Time Posing. Not Everyone Needs To Be In Every Picture Either.....
