Catherine (DD , 3yo in April) WDW 1st timer who cannot wait to kiss Pooh and Mickey on the nose.
Tuesday February 10
Finally, a morning where Mickey gets to wake us up. Too bad its at 6:00am. Well the Princess goes back to sleep until I get out of the shower. We do our breakfast routine (while she watches Krissa.. at this point that is ALL she wants to watch.. over and over and over), and head out the door.
Grab the bus to MK, and arrive at about 7:40am for our 8:15 PS at CP. Disney is so calm this hour of the day. We had started chatting with a great family on the bus to MK. They too had CP this morning, so we waited for them. <<My shout out to the wonderful Katie S. and crew. she reads these boards but doesnt post.. so HI KATIE>>
CP was wonderful. The way the characters visit you, and the time you get to spend. Pooh was Catherines favorite. The food was GREAT! And I loved having some 'brown' milk. We were done around 9:10 and headed out for some fun. We went straight to Tomorrowland.. BUZZ LIGHTYEAR. umm.. yeah.. okay. Catherine HATED it. She cried and hid almost the whole ride. She said it was dark and scarey. (She told her teacher at daycare yesterday that "buzz scared me, but mommy saved me" awwww). I thought the TTA would be a good distraction from Buzz. WRONG! The dark parts of this freaked her out. Okay.. moving on. The race cars the Race cars. She LOVED these. She loved that she got to drive. I had to help occasionally once we got bumping around like crazy, but it was a blast!
After a potty break, next stop.. Teacups. We saw the mad hatter and tweedle dee & dum on our way. Loved TeaCups. Catherine LOVED them too! Then onto Toontown. We did Minnie's house then a short wait for Cinderella and Suzy Mouse. Then we did Mickey's house with a short wait to see him. Then.. onto BARNSTORMER. Now, my daughter might be a scaredy cat in the dark.. but give her a trill and she is THERE! she loved Barnstormer! That's my girl!
We then did a calm train ride around the park then headed to Fantasy Land. By the time we hit Fantasy land she was zzzzzz. So I grabbed at FastPass for PeterPan and grabbed some lunch. Oh! By now... 60 min wait for all rides! It's only about 1:00. Well, I eat, and she wakes up. So we wait for Dumbo.. this is the LONGEST wait. 25 min.. and it felt it. Catherine at her pb&j in line. LOVED dumbo, then did the carosel. LOVED that of course. Then... time for peter Pan fast pass. its about 2:30 by now. I figure we can do this then do the parade. Well. Peter Pan is dark ya know. So.... yup.. she freaked and cried. Okay.. I am defeated by now. We skip the parade and head for the bus. Stop on mainstreet for a 26$ backpack as mine broke in line for Dumbo, and got Cat a set of Mickey ears w/ her name on them.
On the way to the bus stop I see the POP bus there. I would have fun.. but I was too tired. Nope.. you wait.. I'll be there in a minute. WELL! we get on the bus and there are Katie S and crew! Woohoo! They told the driver to wait for us. Thanks guys. Katie'd DDs loved Catherine and they chatted about their day. We get back to the POP and meet Katie and crew at the pool. The girls played while we relaxed. What a nice afternoon.
Tonights plans are MK for Spectro and Wishes. Katie and crew headed back to MK to do Tomorrowland while we rest, get dinner at the FoodCourt and head back to MK. Bad bus experience time. We were waiting for the MK bus, when a bus pulls into our spot that says EPCOT on it. umm okay. Well he unloads his bus, and the folks from the Epcot line come over to see if they should get on. While they are waiting to get on, and the bus unloads, the driver shut his back doors, WITH a person getting out. It was scarey! The guy was okay, but the driver offered no "sorry, are you OK" YIKES! IT was scarey. So he takes his folks to Epcot. bye bye.. drive safe. and we wait another few for the MK bus.
At MK Catherine and I find a good spot for spectro from just across the Frontier Land bridge and across from the shortcut to Main St. we are meeting Katie S and crew outside CP for Wishes. Spectro was wonderful. Just as I remembered. After we ran to the potty and met up with Katie and crew for wishes. We found a nice spot along Main St and enjoyed the fireworks. The narration and music is WONDERFUL! So much better then from across the lake Sat PM. We decided to stay and shop to miss the bulk of the crowd. We honestly shopped until 9:45 or so, and head for the bus. I stopped and got Cat a baloon (the minnie, mickey one). We get to the bus stop and Oh My Heck! the entire Pop queue is full, the entire empty queue next to POP is full. and there is a MASS of people on the sidewalk backed up to the ASSp queue. At least 600 people. I looked at Katie, and she looked at me.. no way jose! We glance at ASSp.. with like 3 people in line, and go for it. We got in line for ASSp. Plan is hop to ASsp. .to DTD.. to POP. I could not stand anymore.. my feet were killing me. Well in line for the bus Catheirne plays w/ her balloon and... it flew off the string. Really.. the string stayed.. the balloon went. She lost it.. cried.. what trauma. I was not going back for another.. Get me home! So we load the bus and a nice family gave up seats to myself and Katie, who has a bad knee and back. Thanks nice family.
We get to ASSp and it looks nice! About a 10 min wait and the DTD bus showed up. It was pretty empty and we had a nice tour of the other AS resorts. At DTD we had a 5 min wait for the POP bus and we were home! YAY! Its about 10:30 by now.. not too bad. We grab some food and sit by the pool. Catherine was asleep by now in the stroller, Katie's DDs were swimming in the pool,and we just sat and chatted and ate and drank. NICE! This was vacation!
Cat and I headed up for bed at 11:30. Tomorrow was a slow day, we could sleep til 8.
Tomorrow: Kym meets us for MGM. and I totally lose my mind.
