Me (26) single-mom to
Catherine (2 1/2 yo DD , 3yo in April) WDW 1st timer who cannot wait to kiss Pooh and Mickey on the nose.
Monday February 9th
Again, up before Micky called, but we got a good night sleep. Same routine. Nutrigrain, milk, and cartoons. Me: shower, cereal and ready. We are heading to Epcot today. I am itching to go to MK, but there is time for that.
I stopped and filled my mug with some caffeine. I don't drink coffee, Coke is my vice. And headed for the bus. We waited no more than a few minutes for the bus. So far, I am loving these buses. We get into Epcot and wait in line for the turnstiles. Once through, we gather with everyone for Rope Drop. Again, here come the characters, and up Catherine goes on my shoulders to see them. She squeled and yelled, as if Mickey and Minnie could see her. It was so sweet. After a bathroom break, potty trained tots are fun, we head up to Spaceship earth. After having to sit on my lap all day yesterday, she is a bit more independant today. Sat on her own for this ride. She loved it. It's dark in here, but she loved it. Not at all afraid. I like the new end. It has been like 10 yrs since I've been on this, so a lot has changed. LOL. Well, mistake time... I took her on the Universe of Energy. Oy vey. Where is the "the dinosaurs are still here and will scare your 2yo" warning. She freaked. She spent the rest of the ride in my lap. There goes the day. We do innovations next. And then did Figment. Okay.. mistake again. Figment is scarey I guess when you are 2yo and just got the you know what scared out of you by dinosaurs. So.. she cried the whole time. We played a bit afterwards, then got in line for Honey I Shrunk the Audiance. I am thinking.. really, can she do this? So we got out of line. I wanted to take things easy for a bit. So, we head to the LAND (oh. .after a quick change of clothes. another mistake. .its not cold today.. we are sweating). Oh, rides in vegitation scare my daughter too, so we don't go on it. I give up!
We head to the World Showcase. Stop in UK for some fish.. YUM! There were no tables open so we went down and sat on some benches next to the water. Catherine loved this. she talked to the birds and ate her food. We wonder the World Showcase. Saw a great street performance in France, and bumped into some Characters in China. Here we had the BEST interaction with characters. Rico the Raccoon is awesome. After he signed Cat's book, she reached to retrieve it so she could do her, hug, kiss nose, turn & pose thing. Well.. he wouldn't give the book up. He kept playing with her. She was laughing and finally (SO MY DAUGHTER) put her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes at him. LOL She was a great sport, but this Rico was wonderful! We also got Mr Smee, Mickey and Minnie. We only stopped at about 4 KidCots, mistake. I should have stopped at more, she'd have enjoyed it more I think. Well at Japan Catherine wants a break. From what? what are you doing? I'll ride in the stroller, you push me! LOL We stop in Norway. I tell her the boat is NOT scarey, she says OK, YAY she will go. Well, we get in line. and.. she freaks. Oh well, I tried. Thanks to the folks who let us out easily.
We then head over to Living Seas. This was a hit. The Nemo section is wonderful. I have a friend who is a Salt Water Fish freak, and he says that thanks to Nemo Blue Tang and Clown Fish are OVER popular. Oh well, they are pretty to look at! LOL. Catherine loved the dolphins. One kept coming to the window to suprise her when she wasn't looking.. VERY cute. We saw some divers, they waved.. that was cool. We stayed here for a good bit since she enjoyed it so much. We did the KidCot here too. That was fun. She now has her Sea Princess crown. LOL.
We decided to head home and swim. It was HOT. We road the monorail to MK, then grabbed the bus to the POP. I had to find a reason to ride the monorail. We got to sit upfront. what a cool ride!
We headed home and did a quick dip in the pool, then took a nap. I had Catherine up and dressed by 6:00 so we could hop the bus to MGM.. and the boat to YC/BC. We were having dinner at Beaches and Cream. I loved this place. YUMMY! April the hostess was WONDERFUL! she was so nice and kept coming to say HI to Cat. I got a hamburger and Cat got a hotdog. We had to make 2 potty trips while there... 1 for each duty (sorry.. lol). But you know.. this is what you get for training them. LOL The food was wonderful, and the service terrific too. We got a milkshake togo and headed to Epcot. We arrived around 8:00. Let me try to explain where we sat. Okay. .the bridge over International Gateway.. on the way to France there are stairs down to a terrace type thing. We sat on those stairs. We enjoyed our milkshake and waited for it to start. Illuminations was WONDERFUL! What an awesome show!
We then herded like cattle w/ everyone else to the bus. I love how they sing goodbye and wave w/ the mickey hands. Very cool. The wait for the bus was not bad. They had 2 pull up at a time, and we were on in less then 10 min. We got a seat (Catherine in my lap of course and the stroller in front of me). and road back to POP. I stopped in the foodcourt and grabbed a banana for the next morning.
TO BED TO BED! We have 8:15 PS at Crystal Palace in the morning.
