oh god - I wish I hadnt posted such a question resulting in so many upset responses. I honestly asked in all innocence the opinions and experiences of individuals with youngsters. I hadnt expected judgemental postings and will be VERY CAREFUL about future enquiries (if I make any)

Nobody is upset.
It's just I guess it has turned into something that some of us have strong feelings about and personally I have been affected by people's opinions on children in stroller's whilst touring the theme parks.

Your question was a valid one, I do not feel the thread has got out of hand myself.

The first time we went my son was 5 and he managed to walk round the parks no problem. However, we didn't hit the parks till about 11 ish and left at 5 ish. You just have to see what your own particular child is like and go with that.

If he had wanted a buggy I would have got one. Fancied one myself a couple of times

Thanks for all the advice. I have to say I am really pleased I discovered this forum as it has turned out really valuable. Does anyone else find it as addictive as me - only 29 days to go now. Has anyone purchased tickets from theme park tickets direct? Their disney 14x day passes are approx £10 less than everywhere else I have looked (and their flex tickets)

On our last trip we took DS's old buggy (umbrella style) which we had bought before his first trip in 2000 just before his first birthday. During the first week of our last holiday he used it for about the first 3 days (very handy when the heavens opened and the rain canopy was slipped over it he was dry unlike the park strollers ) and then didn't bother with the thing so we left it in the room and he managed fine without it.

I think this year our DS will do lots of walking, we will not be dashing about in the parks but taking things easy.. after all we are there to relax and have a great time. We will make full use of the disney transportation and there's always the option of going back to the hotel room for an hour or two or a dip in the hotel pool if we need some time to chill out

Hi,

It can be addictive, especially as many of us on here go to Florida regularly.
Even though the next holiday may be a long time ahead (ours is Easter 2008), it is nice to 'talk Florida', and after all there is a lot of knowledge available on the DIS.

Many people have used Theme Park Tickets Direct, I never have as we always use Maple Leaf (www.mapleleaftickets.com).
It is quite common to stick with the same place for tickets if you are happy with the service.

we are planning on going next yer (2008) when my youngest will be 6, and am seriously thinking of taking her buggie with us just in case. For any child it can be a tiring day if you are there from early morning til quite late at night. if she uses it she uses if not then i'll be glad i brought it just in case. i think it all depends on how you are planning your days at the park and what you child is like.
