Hi all! First time poster. My wife and I are planning a May 2014 Disney trip with our two daughters who will be 1.5 and 6 months. Below are my questions:
1. Do I need car seats for the kids in te Disney buses? What about for the Magical Express airport transfer?

2. What resort would people recommend? We will likely rent DVC points.

3. Any other tips for a great trip?

Thanks!

I recommend Bay Lake Tower because of its proximity to MK and the monorail. It's a short walk to MK which will be great for afternoon breaks if necessary. No cars seats needed on the bus either. Not sure about Magical Express though.

1: Car seats are not allowed to be used on either DME or the park bussing system.

2: Given the ages of your girls, BLT (Bay Lake Tower) would be my first choice. It's on the monorail line and a short 10 minute walk to MK. Villas at the Grand Floridian and Villas at the Wilderness Lodge are other options to consider as one is on the monorail line and the other just a quick boat ride to the entrance of MK. It all comes down to personal preference though, so I'd advise a bit of research on all of the properties to see which one fits your family best.

3: Just have fun! Realize that no matter how much planning was involved in the vacation, the vacation isn't always going to follow the plan with an infant and toddler. My daughter's first Disney vacation was at 15 months and it was magic watching her seeing the World for the first time! I still cry when I look at those pictures.

Little ones would love wilderness lodge and magic kingdom is a boat ride away!

Thanks for your responses! BLT, VGF and VWL were the three I was most interested in. We are also trying to scope out a possible home resort for a DVC purchase next year. One more question. what rides could the baby go one, if any?

I took my 4 month old on anything without a height requirement.

You will be really surprised how many rides your baby can go one. At that age nothing is likely to "scare" them so even HM and Pirates should be fine! She can do anything without a height requirement so there's really one 3 in each park she CAN'T do. WDW is really family friendly. Have a great time!

My kids are now 3, 5 & 7 but started to go when the oldest was 6 months so we went with a 1.5 and a 6 month old twice. The second time I also had a 3 year old. The little ones can go on so much except the "mountains" at MK and things like Test track and Soarin at Epcot. Never did AK with the little ones and waited on HS until they were older. Baby even went on Pirates of the caribbean.
