I'm planning an all out commando tour this trip - this is my first time not being prego so it's MY TURN to ride the rides!!!! And since we only have 5 days (well, 5 and a half) I plan on doing rope drop to closing time. Ok, ok.... I'll have to give my kids a break SOMETIME....

DH on the other hand is not into that type of trip. He has even invited friends of his that live in the area to visit us for dinner. DINNER? When does he think we're going to have that kind of time? Unless they are joining us at the park?

AND... I'm all for splitting the troops for maximum efficiency. DH? We go as a family, we STAY TOGETHER as a family.

I'm gonna need some advice... :grouphug:

I would totally have been for "splitting the troops," as you said - but since he's not OK with that, make a list now of the specific rides you really want to go on and haven't gotten to on past trips because you were carrying HIS babies (yes, play that card if you really need to.)

Get him to agree - in advance - that those bits are a priority, even with the whole family sticking together, and even it means a less-than-laid-back approach for part of the trip. (I say "part" because, like you said, I don't think I could handle 5 open-to-close commando days in a row, let alone kids!)

And what would he think of meeting the friends for dinner at Downtown Disney? They wouldn't have to pay admission, and you'd still be surrounded by "Disneyness."

Good luck!! I know it's really hard to go with different styles.

:rotfl: going commando can be done
take a kid-take a carriage
meet buds at DTD
we went in august-hottest time ever-you think-gone from 8am to 1 every night-kids had a blast

we did the dining plan-ate a quick breakfast or cereal on the way to the bus
did a table service around 3-4ish
and we had the counter service @ about 11-12 after the fireworks and parades

we knew it would be hot-we drank a lot of water-snacked and did one park a day

good luck- I am going with my bff and her family and she says she's dying to go commando-her family just can't keep up--ahem.....he dh tells me she needs a nap everyday-don't be dissapointed-

oh- i should mention my ds has down syndrome- and he was a BLAST!

that's the reason for us going again so soon- how could I say no?:woohoo:
