Disney Wish: Royal Gathering & Port excursions

Sailing Disney Wish next week and have a deadline tomorrow to finish booking port excursions. I snagged one remaining opening for the Royal Gathering on the ship at 9:45am. However, the port excursion we want on that same day (Blue Lagoon Island escape in Nassau) offers one start time of 10:45am. Has anyone experienced the "royal gathering" and knows how long that takes (I'm envisioning long lines of waiting to meet/take pics with the Disney princesses)? Not sure if I'm cutting it too close to excursion time. I want to do the excursion but also heard the Royal Gathering was a great experience for kiddos.

You’ll be fine. It’s like a 10 minute wait in line and another 10 mins with the characters.

The Royal Gathering involves meeting several princesses in a row, Because it requires tickets, the wait is not long — the point of the tickets is to control crowds. In a worst case scenario, if it approaches 10:30, you could step out of line before reaching the last princess or two and head to the excursion meeting area. (You can carry anything you’ll need for the excursion with you so you don’t need to go back to your room, or have someone not attending the Gathering meet you with it.)

Hi. We just returned from sailing on Dusney Wish. You will be fine!

We booked the Royal Gathering for 9:00 a.m. We arrived about 10 minutes early. Once it started, we were done in about 5 minutes.

Bring an autograph book if you like.

When you first board the ship, the kids will be given magic wands. Stick around the grand hall for a bit, so they can make a special wish the fairy godmother.

They do sign autographs. We met 3 princesses.

As others have said, bring your things to the meet and greet. Sometimes they don't let you get in line until your start time, sometimes they will let you get in line a few minutes before. Depending on how many Princesses there are (3-5 usually), it shouldn't take any longer then 30 minutes so you'll have plenty of time to make your meeting time of 10:45am.
