Has anyone experienced Disney not honoring a PIN they sent to you? Today I rec'd and email with an offer for the dates that I am planning on traveling. I was so excited. I called this morning and was told by a CM that my PIN does not cover my dates of travel, however it clearly states the dates this PIN offer is good for and they are my travel dates. I asked if I could emial or fax them what I rec'd and was told no. I then asked for a supervisor, she explained that they sometimes send these out a couple times a year if they don't get the results they wanted the first time around they will send again. She assured me that what I rec'd was legit and she would transfer me back to a CM and explain to the CM so that we could get this resolved. However, the 2nd CM still refused to honor the code. Unfortunately, I was at lunch and my time ran out so I could not speak to another supervisor. I will try them when I get home from work this evening, but in the mean time I wanted to see if anyone else had this experience and how did it get resolved. :sad2:

So it wasn't that they didn't have availability, she just didn't want to honor it? Let us know how it turns out.

Yes I called today -- I have the right dates But not the right Resort for the discount --- But I do not want to switch Resorts.

There are only a limited number of rooms at each resort that can use the code at a given time. It's possible that the resort you're planning on is already booked for rooms with the code for those dates.

I specifically asked if it was because the rooms were no longer available and was told that no the dates were not valid. They said there was a block on the dates from2/14/08 to 8/10/08, however my PIN came with valid dates of 5/22/08-07/03/08 and 07/06/08-08/02/08. I am going in June and from what I am reading in the email that date should be covered. They even asked me questions regarding the graphics in the email to verify that it was a legit email, but they would not accept a fax or email copy of it. Hopefully, I will get someone who can help me this evening.

Is there a three digit code listed on the e-mail? (Not the pin number, but a three digit code.)
Maybe someone else here hasd a similar e-mail or has used that code and you can compare what dates you show.
Sounds very odd. :confused3

There is not a 3 digit code, only the PIN#. We are planning on going June 7-13, 2008. I am about to get on the phone now. Will write back after.

Yes, please let us know what they say. This must be a new offer. I haven't read about those particular dates yet being covered by a PIN. I wonder if this is indeed a new offer and just not in their systems yet. Could you let us know what your offer is? 40%? I can't imagine they wouldn't give it to you.

That is VERY strange, but you might just have to keep calling until you get someone who knows what they're doing and talking about. I have spoken to 4 CMs over the last 2 days, and only 2 of them seemed to efficiently know what they were doing. The first one couldn't even find out what my code was for!

Here's wishing you some pixie dust! :wizard:

I had problems with my 40% off PIN. I've traveled to Disney under my (former) married name and my current name. I got the email saying I had 40% off. The first time I called, the CM was very unhelpful. She said she was applying the code, but the rates she quoted were rack rates. I gave up and called later that day. I got another CM who was much more helpful. He said that the only PIN attached to my name was only good for travel through the end of March and I was booking for September. I kept insisting that the email I'd received listed the dates in September. After some searching, he discovered that the code was attached to my former name. (I hadn't even thought about that.) He fixed the situation and I was able to book with the discount. Had I not called back and gotten a more helpful CM, my 40% off PIN would have gone to waste. Call back until you get someone who is willing to dig into the problem and help.

I have been on the phone all evening, they gave me the run-around with wrong fax numbers, etc. Finally, I was allowed to fax my offer for their verification. While they had me on hold I went to the website and discovered that the discount they were offering was actually rack rate. They bottom-line was pay rack rate or change my dates and get 20% off. However, I did make them aware of a glitch they had in their system. My dates are not flexible therefore the PIN is basically useless for me, I will stick with AAA discount. This was a disappointing Disney experience. I sure hope all future dealings with Disney are more enjoyable.

It can be frustrating. Last year I got the 40% code and had a trip planned the first week of May, the middle of August and the last week of October and none of my dates were eligible. None of my dates were near holidays or any special events. I just had a case of bad-mojo when it came to choosing my vacation dates last year. This year I did slightly better and choose my August dates that fell within the small code window. There are only a few dates that actually got the 40% code (I think it was 7 different windows--not much). Good luck. I did think it was strange that you were offered a discount for June, as June seldom has any discounts available.

That really stinks :sad1:. There's still a chance you could get something though! But at least you can get AAA discount and save a little something.

I got the same email. There were 2 offers in the email with the PIN. The first one had a rate for a VALUE resort. I inquired about a DELUXE. We are traveling the end of July,so our dates were covered by the first offer.

The second offer was the 30% discount. The CM was helpful, but she couldn't get the pin to work. After numerous times, she contacted Guest Services, and I faxed them my email. Bottom line - there was nothing they can offer me. I currently have a AAA discount.

I will be calling back again. Maybe there was a glitch in the sytem..........

I, too, received the e-mail with a pin number only (no code) and tried to apply it to an existing reservation for July. CM told me those dates were blacked out, even though the dates on the e-mail said it was for my reservation dates!:confused3

Could it mean that those code dates are all used up at your particular resort? Call back and look for other resorts in the same category. Or could you bump your trip by a week and try again?

Maybe you can only use the pin at a certain resort category, like just moderates or values. And it is quite possible that the pin cannot be applied because there are no discounted rooms left at your resort. I would call back and see if switching resorts would allow you to take advantage of the discount.

After faxing the PIN# email to guest services, they would allow me to use the PIN however, for the week we are going it was rack rate. I believe in July the rack rate is higher so you may be able to use it. Just get the CM to contact guest services.

I didn't get the email but someone had it quoted in another post. What struck me is that the first offer was rack rate. I only knew because it was the rate we were initially paying for a Value.
