Disney Wilderness Lodge Nov 29-Dec 6 2007 Please read!

Hello! I have my disney vacation booked for 11/29-12/6 at Wilderness Lodge. I tried to get the visa discount and gen public discount, No luck! Has ANYONE out there got a discount at the WL?? I keep calling with no luck and I am looking to see if there is any chance of me getting one!! I can switch to AKL and add on extra day and still save 100.00 with the discount! Help me decide!! I don't know what to do.. I really do want to stay at WL as I hear is beautiful for Christmas! We stayed there last september and LOVED it.. How is AKL at christmas? Do they have Decorations too?

Please Please anyone out there who got a discount on WL please share your info! Also anyone with input about AKL VS. WL please share!!

Good question! I have been trying to get a Fl Res rate at WL for the last 4 months, any nothing. They have offered BW, YC, and AKL, but thats about it =( Makes me wonder if WL has been excluded from some of the more recent rates...maybe because of its popularity at Christmas...but then again, I have been trying since for stays in July-November.

$100 less and an extra night at a comparable deluxe sounds like a deal I would take...unless you would be downgrading from Courtyard to Standard...that might make it a little more difficult =)

I was told that there were no discounts for any of the rooms at WL other than a Villa due to the popularity of WL during the Christmas season. I was told this by about 4 different CMs at CRO.

I have a standard room booked now and the one at AKL is also a standard rooom so I will not be downgrading.. I am just wondering how AKL compares to WL. Anyone out there with any opinons or if they have a WL room booked with the discount please post!

As it turned out, I was able to upgrade to a courtyard view for a tiny bit less than what I was originally paying for a standard view room at rack rate.

Hi yes they offered it to me for those dates too but I couldn't go then. Same thing I would have upgraded to the courtyard view so I woudn't have been saving too much. In my case I am looking for the discount to add on a day lol.. Thank You for your response!

The week after Thanksgiving has been becoming more crowded over the past several years so I don't think they are offering discounts when they know they can get rack pricing for them. For several years I went right after Thanksgiving and have noticed that many others were doing the same thing more and more. The first weekend now in December is when they tape the xmas parade for tv so a lot of locals and passholders come in for that weekend, then during the week you have the disney dis convention after the cruise date, not to mention the football/cheerleading convention and others just coming in for the christmas decorations. Last year I tried at beginning of Sept. to book a room for Dec. 7th and all disney rooms under $350 were completely taken. I am returning this year on the same day with fly in night at PC before moving next a.m. and this is costing me about $93 (no discounts available including AAA) for 12/7.

We have been trying since the discounts were first announce to apply any of them to our week (12/1 - 12/8) with NO luck... Have been told it is all booked up... That maybe true since when going through Disneys website no rooms are ever available for that week...

I will be at WL Nov. 28-Dec. 5 with a AAA room only discount. I got this discount several weeks ago. I have stayed at WL over 25 times and AKL twice. I prefer WL as you can see, but the AKL is also very nice. The WL has become very popular, especially at Christmas time. WDW is just getting busier all the time.

DW and I are going 12/8-12/16 and have been booked for a standard since Feb.

I have tried for a discount several times since the codes were released with no luck. I think we could have used the codes if we were willing to change to AKL. We don't want to. This is our first time at a Deluxe and we really want to stay at WL.

Can't wait to stay at WL. 103 days left

I don't see the Wilderness Lodge becoming available with the discount because if you pull up the dates you listed, without the discount, the hotel isn't coming up available at all. If there are no rooms left to sell I don't see the discount becoming available anytime soon

I am soo on the fence about what to do! I wanted to stay at wilderness lodge but i really wanted the discount and I wanted to add on a day!! So I either stay at Wilderness or Swtich to AKL and get to add on an extra day without paying extra $$..

Help what should I do?? lol

No one can make this decision for you
You have to decide if you want the WL more then the extra night
If you want the extra night more then you will just have to switch resorts to get the discounted offer.

Have you purchased your airfare yet?
If you haven't I would check if adding the extra day will make a difference in cost on your airfare. That may help you make your decision

That would be a tough one. AKL doesn't really appeal to DW and I, but it might be worth it for an extra day. It is still a deluxe resort and lots of folks love AKL. WL is also very convenient to MK and Epcot. AKL is further out. Not advocating either resort, just pointing it out.

We did decide that we wanted to stay at WL instead of pursuing a discount at another resort. We have seen the travel channel special and lots of Christmas pictures and can't wait to experience it for ourselves.

No I didn't purchase my airfare yet so that won't make a difference.
I keep going back and forth lol.. I am such a bad decision maker lol..

Yoou may just keep trying. We booked at the Poly Dec. 16-22, and I checked back everyday for Wilderness lodge and it poped up yesterday. With the courtyard view it was 400 cheaper than the standard poly room.
